PK Kemsley Takes Issue with Dorit Kemsley Discussing The Darkest Times In His Life

The premiere of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 14 has brought Dorit Kemsley’s personal life into the spotlight, particularly her separation from husband PK Kemsley. Throughout this emotional chapter, Dorit has remained open and transparent about the struggles they faced in their marriage, especially regarding PK’s past issues with alcohol. And PK isn’t very pleased.

PK Kemsley upset with Dorit Kemsley

Dorit’s decision to speak about PK Kemsley’s alcoholism on screen has drawn attention, particularly when she discussed the impact it had on their relationship. PK himself, during a recent appearance on Bravo’s Hot Mic podcast, expressed frustration with some of the comments Dorit made, including her statement that he was a “full-blown alcoholic.” He explained that although his alcoholism was a component in the dissolution of their marriage, he believes it is too simplistic to label him as a “full-blown alcoholic” without considering the nuances of the situation.

“I was shocked, disappointed, and upset [about] what Dorit had to say,” PK shared, acknowledging the emotional toll of his struggles. He also made it clear that he has made significant strides in his recovery, proudly stating that he has been sober for a year.

PK himself acknowledged that alcoholism was only a “component” of their separation, explaining that the cause of their marital issues is much deeper than addiction. “Dorit’s lack of understanding about sobriety is not her fault. She hasn’t invested in it, and it’s not something, you know, she hasn’t worked a program and hasn’t done what I’ve done. So there is no fully blown alcoholic. You’re either an alcoholic or you’re not.”

PK continued, “Obviously, my alcoholism had an element of responsibility in relation to the breakdown of our marriage. But that was just a component. If you understand the disease, alcoholism is a symptom. It’s not a cause. So the reality is you have to get to what the cause was underneath. So it’s just not as simple as to say, ‘He was a fully blown alcoholic. That’s why we’re separated.'”

However, Dorit’s words have been consistent in portraying her emotional distress and the difficult decisions that led to the split. In a season premiere that has already generated significant buzz, Dorit spoke candidly about the struggles they faced, including bankruptcies, gambling debts, and PK’s past behavior. “The bankruptcy and all the gambling debts were well before I met her and then the thing for me, because I’ve recovered, from all of the things that have happened in my extraordinary career, I’ve recovered from anything. I haven’t gambled since 2008. I don’t drink. The bankruptcy was 2010 all of that was past, past history.”

“Dorit is on TV talking about the darkest times in my life and suggesting that she held my hand through them, it’s difficult to watch sometimes, particularly when she wasn’t with me when it happened.”

Thoughts on PK’s reaction?

I don't know why PK is surprised that Dorit will say anything she needs to say to get attention and camera time. He comments are typical Dorit. And, of course, his are typical PK.

She can say whatever she wants about herself, but he is not really on the show anymore, I believe she doesn't have a right to say these things about him. I mean get your own story, your no longer together. End of story for me.

Remember what we are seeing now, was absolutely fresh in the moment. He is just responding to the 'airing' of the show. Personally, she has been quite "Doritish" about it all with no anger or malice showing.

Hang on...he challenged Dorit's knowledge on his sobriety and sobriety in general, yet he claimed to be an expert when she was suffering PTSD, and claimed she was just being obnoxious. Hmmm...PK's showing his true drunken narcissistic colors - Dorit run girl run (oh and enjoy your wealthy new man). https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/0cfe17c1ada5a97e6cb837b1fcc6ce4b81df4c04e615625e43cbdd3b95077b11.png

I watched the interview. If he only said half of what he said, it would have been fine. He just seemed to drone on more and like @champagnehangover:disqus said 'puffed himself up'. He was very well worded and I don't think he trashed talked Dorit. The scene last season when PK stated he felt some of what Dorit says was PTSD and others were ?? (can't remember). To me that clearly showed, Dorit was lacking some safety or something in her marriage and PK just couldn't provide it. That was always so sad to me. It was SHE who was with those kids that night and not him.

PK said Dorit was overreacting, he wasn't sympathetic to her PTSD. It made me angry seeing him so snug and indifferent while she's telling him how she feels. It made me think maybe he did set up that robbery.

Listen , I personally don’t think this is ok from PK. What respectable older man who shares two children with someone , goes on a bash tour of wife who isn’t even divorced from yet ? Regardless of what his bitching is about he should stfu and stay out of public eye . Chillax dude … you are NOT the HW . And really , less is more PK. The less we see of you the more we may like you lol . Some things should stay off media .

Methinks the dude doth protest too much. ? Real talk here: PK can be proud as he wants for no longer being a drunk, but the better response is being humbled by having ever been a drunk and GRATEFUL to God for the second chance/ recovery healing that none of us wrongdoers/sinners either deserve or are entitled to (which is why paying it forward instead of puffing yourself up for finally doing what you should have damn well done from the beginning is paramount.) Real easy for him to whine about the mercy and grace he perceives Dorit withheld from him while ignoring he did the same to Dorit re: her trauma. Yeah, first remove the log in your own eye so that you can see clearly to remove the speck that is in Dorit’s eye. How ‘bout DAT? ?
