On the latest episode of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Mary Cosby asked her son if he thought he had a problem. “Sometimes, I feel like, I don’t know, just life is like this chicken without seasoning,” he explained. “But when I get high, it’s like seasoning.”

He went on to reveal that he first took Xanax when he was 16 and a friend gave it to him at a party.

“Then I was like, ‘I like this,’” he continued. “I started buying it. Then I started doing Xanax with acid, and then Molly with Xanax, because I really like Xanax – so I mixed it with everything, Xanax and cocaine.”

“You know, the regular 30-milligram Oxys? I noticed, like, this is a turning point for me. I was taking 10 at once, and I couldn’t even feel it. I couldn’t feel it at all.”

Speaking on the RHOSLC After Show, Mary said she and her husband, Robert Cosby Sr., are supporting their son on his road to recovery, “Robert Sr., he tries to share with Robert Jr. his situation. Before Robert. Sr. mom made him go through the army, he enjoyed getting high, too. I never – I don’t have that to share with him. I can’t see through his eyes. But I do understand him, and I don’t judge him.”

Mary says that Robert Jr. does want to change explaining, “I feel like dealing with that, in anybody’s life, is really hard because it’s almost embarrassing because at some point your child has to tell you, ‘Mom, I have a vulnerable side and I failed and I wasn’t able to bring myself back up. And I just feel like if you keep things real, that’s how you get through it. He does want to change, and that’s the only way it will work.”

RHOSLC airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo and streams the next day on Peacock

I think Jr. may be a closet case and he doesn’t know how to approach it considering his parents’ Pentecostal beliefs.

The kid is clearly fried (to the point of brain damage), and I don't know what kind of mother would have him appear on television. But then again, I don't know why such a hateful racist would want to return to a show with a cast whom she hates, and vice versa. Actually, I guess we all know the answers to both questions.

He never stood a chance, and if we're to believe Mary, she didn't either. #Generational Dysfunction.

The challenge of addiction is that it's a life long struggle. I think that's why some say there's a genetic component to it. It was very emotional to watch and I hope he can overcome this. ?

Mary has always been a question mark for me. Marrying your mother's stepfather for money is a huge red flag for sure. Mary said that her mother was her best friend but that her mother cut her off when Mary married her mother's stepfather to inherit her grandmother's ( Mary's mother) estate. Apparently, Mary's grandmother wanted to punish Mary's mother ( her daughter) by destroying her relationship with Mary and by disinheriting her. Look, it would be hard for any mother to live through a daughter doing that to her as well as having your own mother do it to you too. It's twisted and it's ugly.

It’s very much against scripture as well. HOPEFULLY that factored in the mother’s reasoning but somehow I doubt it. ?

I just read an interview that Mary's mother and stepfather gave a few years back. Mary's mother says that her stepfather is a sex addict and that he targeted Mary because she was naive. And then the grandmother died suddenly. Mary's mother blames her stepfather ( and not her mother ) for this mess. I had to update because my comment is wrong. It's wasn't the grandmother, it was the step grandfather who went after Mary.

Still against scripture. So it is what it is…?
