Jennifer Aydin Says RHONJ Wouldn’t Work Without OG Teresa Giudice

RHONJ Teresa Giudice confronts Jennifer Aydin

Jennifer Aydin reveals why she believes the RHONJ franchise wouldn’t work without OG Teresa Giudice.

According to Jennifer Aydin, RHONJ wouldn’t work with OG Teresa Giudice, noting that most Real Housewives franchises “lose” some of their “luster” when an OG is let go from the cast.

“It takes time to get invested in new characters, and Teresa really is the OG from the beginning … I feel like the audience is really invested in Teresa,” Jennifer Aydin said on My Friend, My Soulmate, My Podcast. “And especially with her four daughters thriving and her new life with Louie, I feel like there’s so much interesting content.”

The 47-year-old Bravo star admits that she hopes “Teresa comes back” with “a few [castmates] that get along with her” for season 15.

“But at the end of the day, I believe, I believe [if] they were going to keep anybody, for sure I would say Teresa … I don’t think the show could be Housewives of New Jersey with a few of us and not Teresa,” she confesses.

Jennifer also notes that when an OG is “removed” on Real Housewives, the show “somehow loses a little luster.”

The future of the New Jersey Housewives franchise as we know it remains uncertain. Andy Cohen recently shut down casting rumors about season 15 after gossip spread like wildfire across social media. The Real Housewives of New Jersey franchise is on pause as Bravo figures out how to revamp the franchise. Andy Cohen and Bravo have confirmed that they are considering every option, including a full reboot.

As previously reported, Andy Cohen took to his radio show last week to shut down a recent report claiming that Teresa GiudiceDolores Catania, and Jennifer have signed on for season 15.

“It’s not happening. We’ve made no decisions on [RHONJ],” Andy confirmed on the October 15 episode of SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live.

The Watch What Happens Live host then shut down Jennifer‘s claims that she is officially back for season 15.

“What? No! Jennifer Aydin confirmed that she’s returning? No, no, no. We’ve done nothing. We’ve done absolutely, I mean, well, no. Actually, we’ve done plenty, but that’s not, that’s not what’s, no,” Andy insisted. “She said that on her Instagram Live? Wow. Alright. Okay. No.”

“[But] wait until Bravo or I [say] something. How about that?” he added.

Real Housewives of New Jersey isn’t expected to return for season 15 until late 2025 or early 2026.

Teresa is an evil narcissist the show isn’t good anymore ?

Jen makes a good point, but I think it just depends on the franchise. RHONY did very well without Bethenny (at least the first time), and BH got arguably better without LVP (and her toxicity). However OC losing original OG who started it all (Vicki) has proved to be a lot more challenging, and the same goes for ATL when they lost Nene. I think losing Teresa would fall somewhere in between. But ultimately, she's in a good position, because it's doubtful that the current cast can carry the show without her. Also, I think Teresa and Melissa are a package deal, so they're going to have to work it out whether they like it or not.

I totally agree and be careful Jennifer, you don't want Andy to get his tighty whities in a bunch!

and he does that so easily?
LiberalMediaIsCorrupt October 24, 2024 - 11:16 am
It would work just fine, just like all the other shows who got rid of the originals.

Totally agree with Jennifer. There is no RHONJ without Tre and it does take time to get invested in a character. It's absolutely ridiculous that Bravo and Cohen are dragging it out like this. If there is one person I can't stand now, it's asshole Andy Cohen. Now, he's the one that really needs to go.

Jennifer Darling. No one asked you.

I don’t think it’s true for every show (Atlanta, New York and OC have been on longer and don't have any OGs left and Teresa outlasted all of them) but she is right about Jersey; it would be lackluster without Teresa. If Teresa ever left, Jen Aydin and Dolores could both take over because it would take more than one person to replace Teresa. That being said, Jen Aydin, please don’t aggravate Andy and the Bravo execs anymore. ??

Hey I hope Jen aggravates the hell out of them. I am so sick of Bravo and Andy Cohen and their bullshit. I do agree that the show would be lackluster without Teresa. It would take a lot to replace her but I do seem to lose interest when cast regulars are replaced. Just me.

I’m tired of their BS too, but they’re the ones who sign her paychecks. Bravo just needs to accept that whatever they decide to do with Jersey, they will lose viewers either way in the beginning. It is inevitable. They just need to cast the right housewives to bring the viewers BACK and not drive away the few that have stuck around. I can say that I will lose interest if they get rid of Teresa and Jen. Those are the only two regulars on Jersey that I care about. They could go full reboot like NYC (which got mixed reviews) or they could go half and half like Miami (which worked). Do you watch either of those shows?

No HW is indispensable and no single HW makes the show. NJ could go on without Teresa. RHOA is still going without Nene, RHOBH is still going without LVP, OC is still going without Vicki, RHONY is still going without any of the OGS.

It would go on but I’m not sure it be as good , audience numbers wise .
ontoiran October 24, 2024 - 6:00 pm
It's obvious Bravo is aiming for a younger audience of HW viewers. Won't be long before anyone 50 or over won't have a job. Maybe they can spin a Real Grandmother's of...

It would be better michers.

Meh , maybe in one way but overall as a whole show, I disagree

Glad we can disagree like adults ??

The viewer numbers this year were miserable.
michers November 3, 2024 - 12:11 pm
I think overall all of us that don’t agree during season can agree that violent outbursts and beating dead horses and creating divisions are exhausting . I think that’s the numbers !
