Leah McSweeney’s Legal Case Against Andy Cohen and Bravo Heads to Court This Month

Leah McSweeney, of Real Housewives of New York fame, is heading to court in her legal battle against Bravo and Andy Cohen.

The lawsuit between Leah, Andy Cohen, and Bravo is heating up after months of stagnation. A court date for oral arguments has been scheduled.

According to Page Six, the lawsuit, in which the Real Housewives of New York alum accuses the reality TV network and Andy Cohen of making her fall off the wagon to boost ratings.

This seems to be the first time a Bravo cast member has argued a lawsuit against the reality TV network in open court. Real Housewives of Atlanta OG NeNe Leakes previously sued Bravo, but the lawsuit never went to court. Real Housewives of New Jersey‘s Caroline Manzo also has a pending legal case against the network.

Leah McSweeney‘s legal team claimed that the network knew she was battling alcohol addiction when she joined the show. Instead of protecting her sobriety, they saw her vulnerable condition as a chance to score huge rating numbers by messing with her sobriety and mental health until she went off the rails.

Per Leah, producers were successful in their initial attempt to get her drinking again. However, the second time, she was able to resist.

In her lawsuit, Leah, who appeared on two seasons of The Real Housewives of New York and one season of Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, infamously alleged that Andy Cohen had done cocaine with some Real Housewives stars.  The Watch What Happens Live host denied Leah’s claims against him.

In addition to suing the network and Andy Cohen, the former reality TV star is also suing Shed Media, which produces RHONY and RHUGT, Warner Bros., and a handful of producers.

Attorneys for Andy and Bravo have filed motions to have the lawsuit dismissed.

Sources tell Page Six, “Judge Lewis J. Liman expects to hear oral arguments at a Downtown New York courthouse on October 30.”

An insider says the “court hearing will allow the defense to argue for the motion and for McSweeney’s team to argue against it.”

Bravo has yet to comment on the upcoming court hearing.

The Real Housewives of New York airs on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.

She knew what she was getting into and now tries to blame it on everyone but herself.

Hmmmm…Leah’s an adult and knew she was battling addictions better than Bravo, so I’m kind of surprised this is going to court. Don’t they sign their life away in their HW contracts and bullet proof Bravo? Will be interesting.

Even though we all know her case is just a bullshit money grab, Leah deserves a windfall for the deplorable way all those c words treated her on that Godawful RHUGT to Thailand.
