PK Kemsley Celebrates 9 Months of Sobriety; Admits He Misses Drinking but Says the ‘Benefits’ of Sobriety Outweigh His Feelings

RHOBH's Dorit and PK Kemsley discuss their relationship issues

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills staple PK Kemsley celebrates nine months of sobriety while getting open and honest about his new sober life.

During season 13 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, PK Kemsley‘s struggling marriage to Dorit Kemsley was the main storyline for the Bravo couple. Throughout the season, Dorit explains that PK’s alcohol consumption played a major role in their marital issues.

“PK was drinking a lot, and he is a drinker,” Dorit explained during season 13 of RHOBH, noting that her husband’s drinking made it “difficult to have clear-headed conversations,” which is why he ultimately “gave up drinking.”

While PK Kemsley eventually gave up drinking, his marital woes with Dorit persisted and ultimately resulted in their separation earlier this year.

Despite the continued difficulties in his marriage, PK Kemsley has been able to maintain his sobriety and recently celebrated nine months of sober living.

The status of the RHOBH couple’s marriage is up in the air, with many fans wondering whether they will work things out or divorce.

In a recent post on Instagram to celebrate his latest sobriety milestone, PK admitted that he misses alcohol and aspects of drinking but notes the “benefits” of sobriety outweigh everything else. He also adds that he has never felt better since becoming sober.

The British entrepreneur adds that he has never felt better since becoming sober and notes that the “stigma associated with addiction” sucks.

Dorit and PK Kemsley deny split rumors

On Instagram, alongside a picture of himself looking very fit, PK Kemsley wrote:

“I’m 9 months Sober today I made a decision to share my sober journey publicly … why? Firstly to try in my small way to help break the stigma associated with addiction …You’re pretty lucky if you have never seen drink or drugs change a person you love …

So for anyone on the same journey as me, congratulations for anyone who is considering getting sober , I know it’s tough and the decision is warped with fear …But I read that fear is a mile wide and an inch deep …so it looks like this ocean your gonna step into and drown but as soon as you step into it you find out it’s not that deep at all and you can keep walking through it .

I miss drinking for sure , still , but 9 months in ,the benefits are so freaking huge … you get to witness your life as it’s supposed to be experienced ,raw ,real and beautiful … you get to sit in the pain and it passes , you get to look and feel better … it’s so strong and empowering I can’t begin to tell you …

Thanks so much for the overwhelming support I’ve had ,for all the DMs it def helps you stay on track , as do posts like this that make me accountable …

Love PK”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is expected to return for season 14 in late 2024 or early 2025.

I'm so happy to read this. He looks slim & trim too. Maybe the alcohol had him bloated? Anyway, really glad for him.

It's not unusual for the spouse/partner of an addict want the addiction to end. But then when it does, they don't like the personality of sober person they are with. I suspect Dorit is like this. When PK was drinking, she felt superior to him. Now that he is not, she has lost her position and she doesn't like ti. So, she drops him as fast as she can.

"You’re pretty lucky if you have never seen drink or drugs change a person you love". I know I have, and I learned a long time ago that what they say is true; the sick person has to want help. So PK is obviously halfway there.

Addiction or habit is tough to change. Good for him.

Aw, I’m happy for him. He looks the best I’ve ever seen him look, and I hope he doesn’t get dragged back into temptation! ? ? ?
