Brittany Cartwright’s marriage to Jax Taylor may be over for good as she claims he’s not making an effort to fix their relationship issues.
In a new interview, Brittany Cartwright claimed that Jax Taylor is “not trying” to save their relationship after they separated following five years of marriage.
“It’s Jax, so he’s not really trying that much right now,” the Vanderpump Rules alum told TMZ on Saturday.
When asked if she and Jax are willing to do marriage counseling, Brittany Cartwright admitted that she already unsuccessfully suggested that option.
“I’ve asked him for a while to do certain things and nothing has come from that,” she shared.
The 35-year-old then explained, “Whenever you fight with somebody for so long, there’s only so much you can take, and you know, I deserve better, [our 2-year-old son] Cruz deserves better.”
“We want, like, a good co-parenting relationship and I think that me moving out and taking space to figure out if this is what I want is, like, the best situation for me right now,” the Bravo star added.
While Brittany Cartwright insisted that she still loves Jax, she stated, “I just want the best for me and my son at this point. That’s like my main focus.”
“If he switches some things and changes some things about his life then maybe we can get back together,” she continued. “But right now, I don’t know.”
A day before Brittany Cartwright spoke out about her split from Jax, she shared a cryptic message about finding her power.
“If a woman holds the power to create life, she also holds the power to create the life she wants,” the quote read.
Brittany has also removed her married name “Cauchi,” which is Jax’s legal last name, from her Instagram profile.
On Thursday, February 29, Brittany Cartwright announced that she and Jax were “taking time apart.” The Vanderpump Rules alum announced the news on her and Jax’s podcast When Reality Hits With Jax and Brittany.
“Yes, marriages in general are very hard, and I’ve had a particularly rough year this past year,” the Kentucky native said in the episode.
“Jax and I are taking time apart, and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health.”
The 35-year-old didn’t reveal what led to the split, noting that she “won’t get into too many details because this is still very hard to talk about.”
“I’m taking things one day at a time,” she added. “I don’t know what the future holds, but right now, my focus is on being the best mom to Cruz.”
Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright met in 2015 at the Gold Spike Lounge in Las Vegas. The Kentucky native quickly moved to Los Angeles to be with Jax and first appeared on season 4 of Vanderpump Rules. By 2016, Brittany had landed a job at SUR and became an official VPR cast member
In 2017, Jax and Brittany briefly split while dealing with the fallout over Jax cheating on Brittany with their co-star Faith Stowers.
After enduring a rocky fall and summer of 2017, the former SUR couple were officially back together by December.
Jax popped the question in June 2018, and the couple said ‘I do’ a little more than a year later in 2019.
They welcomed their son, Cruz, in April 2021.
Only time will tell if Brittany and Jax can fix their marriage, but stay glued to AllAboutTRH for all the latest updates as they come.
