Joe Gorga Humiliates Son! RHONJ Star Ejected For Storming Son's High School Wrestling Match & Justifies Why He Did
1.4K
Joe Gorga has officially lost it. The Real Housewives of New Jersey husband of Melissa Gorga was ejected for storming son’s high school wrestling match.
Joe lost it when his son, Gino lost his wrestling match. He quickly got up from his seat charging at the ref.
That’s when parents and staff members jumped in. The ref demanded that Joe Gorga leave the gym while Gino stood there silently.
TMZ reports that Joe Gorga has justified his actions saying that he felt the ref made some bad and unfair calls during the match, and Gino’s opponent was “mistreating” him

Joe says he never had intentions of hurting anyone or getting physical. But that his son’s opponent was “conducting himself in an unsportsmanlike manner throughout the match, and the ref let it slide.”

Joe also said his son was a class act for how he handled things.
I feel for his son. He stayed off camera and away from the trashy part of reality TV all these years but now some not unusual, yet bonehead move by his dad won’t just be a little embarrassing and quickly forgotten since his dad chooses to be on trashy reality TV.
.
Props to Gino for handling it like a man. I feel so bad that he got embarrassed by his dad like that but the most important thing is that Gino showed good sportsmanship and kept HIMSELF out of trouble. I’m sure he’s used to the secondhand embarrassment by now so I don’t think this is that traumatizing compared to other stuff his dad has been caught doing.
He definitely needs to keep his “small man’s syndrome” in check. The angry little hobbit is an embarrassment to his son and will tarnish his reputation. Why does Melissa put up with this little man?? It’s actually no wonder why she sits back, is boring and doesn’t say much, she is probably waiting for her unhinged husband to go off at any time.
He has always had an out of control temper. Remember his first scene on the show when he went nuts cause Theresa came up and congratulated him on the christening. He is a loser who blames everyone else. Can’t wait to see how this is Theresa and Luis fault.
At the end of the day in any sport there are going to be calls you don’t like, opponents that act like jerks (not saying the kid in the video did, just in general), etc. but that goes with the territory. Then again, anyone really surprised by this based on how he has acted on the show?
Lots of fathers are like that and it is too bad. It is just way worse when the dad is also on trashy reality TV with tabloids eager to show him being an idiot.
To add – I feel l for Gino. As a sports mom – I know my kids cringed at the thought of me saying anything negative in public. Even having a rule for 24 hour cool off period I never would’ve risked embarrassing them.
Judo is a rough sport so adrenaline is already running high. I don’t think Gorga was going to attack the kid or the ref but he was out of line for charging at them. Left unchecked the situation could have spiraled out of control. Not sure what the ref did or if the opponent did something he shouldn’t but Joe needs to take some anger management lessons. He’s going to be charged with assault one day.
Agree. Small crowd in the gym and parent doesn’t like the call. Happens sometimes and they always look bad because they are wrong to behave that way. Joe, however, happens to be on trashy reality TV so someone filmed it and sold or provided it to the tabloid so it will take much longer to be forgotten. He knows he is a tabloid target so he needs to not be an a-hole for his kids’ sake.
It is so out of bounds behavior, it is not even up for debate. If every parent physically charged a coach or referee after a match or game, youth sports would be over and we are coming to that soon because parents can’t control themselves.
Absolutely. If there is an issue, at the end of the day you can politely ask to speak with the coach, or the next practice. You never charge a referee or student during a match, or a game. That is a physical threat, period. There is always a time and a place to reasonably discuss a dispute and you have to show examples to your kids. We are reaching a point where sports leagues can’t find referees or sports leagues can’t find coaches due to the aggression and violence today coming from parents and it has to be reeled in.
You are correct. My son was a competitive soccer and hockey player and when he was 12-13 he would ref soccer games for money. He would work the rec league, which was non-competitive meaning they didn’t keep score or anything. You would not believe what he had to put up with. Younger kids lipping off in front of their coaches with no consequences, parents yelling at him for a call and coaches questioning him constantly. Honestly, they were worse than the competitive parents! He eventually stopped doing it when he was old enough to get a job because it wasn’t worth it.
I know other refs who have had parents approach them in a parking lot after a game and a hockey coach who had a parent on the other team threaten to go home to get his gun to shoot him! That parent was arrested and the coach had to be escorted to his car by police.
These parents are harming their children in so many ways. One of my former manager’s at work used to tell parents that their kids won’t really remember the winning and losing piece as much as the fun they had on the team. But they will remember how their parents acted. Now Joe’s son has this on TMZ and that is out there forever. Truly sad for him.
Joe was coming for the other student! Every sane parent knows that you may not love every sports outcome or ref call but you NEVER charge the ref and especially the other kid! Ridiculous!

Oh a few on another site have already done it. Clearly TDS.
How embarrassing for his son.

He did his son no favors by acting this way.
Lots of fathers are like that and it is too bad. It is just way worse when the dad is also on trashy reality TV with tabloids eager to show him being an idiot.
If anyone defends this Ahole , they too are a problem . This is why kids can’t have anything these days !

His son lost – that’s what happened . Stumpy couldn’t handle not getting his way for his son. I’m sure it’s Teresa’s fault
That made me laugh?
Yes, Judo is a rough sport. But this is Wrestling.,
I don’t think public schools have judo but maybe they should.
Okay, it’s wrestling. Still rough.
Completely different sport, but I agree – wrestling ?, is tough. It ain’t for the weak.
The kid did nothing wrong. He took down Gino and Gino got pinned . My opinion it was clean win.My son wrestled all through school. I know the sport.
Joey actually acted like a lot of parents do, sad but true. Not saying it right. But it happens.

Discussing when parents act this way. Embarrassing his son this way. He needs to grow up. His son behaved better than his dad.

Really well said

No he wasn’t coming for the other kid. He was wrong but not that bad.
