Bravo alum Ramona Singer is clapping back at Sai de Silva after the RHONY newbie called her out multiple times for being rude. Get all the tea!
Real Housewives of New York OG Ramona Singer has a bone to pick with newbie Sai de Silva after she called her a “total b–ch” on Watch What Happens Live in July and an “a–hole” during a taping of Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea podcast last week.
On September 13, Ramona addressed Sai’s comments with her daughter, Avery Singer, on their podcast, Turtle Time with Ramona & Avery.
According to Ramona, Sai’s comments were out of line while insisting that women should be supporting other women instead of trying to tear them down.
Ramona believes that Sai was trying to make headlines and get attention by publicly dissing her.
“Well it could be what you said, she wants to be relevant in the press, and what better way to be relevant?” Ramona said on the September 13 episode of her podcast, via Page Six.
Ramona insists that Sai just “wants to be in the press,” and that she needs to use her name to do so.
Avery agreed, saying Sai called out her mom to “stay semi-relevant.”
The drama between Sai and Ramona started at a Miami Art Basel exhibition in December 2022.
Ramona explains that Sai approached her at a “really crowded” and “overwhelming” event but the RHONY OG didn’t know who the influencer was at the time. A month prior at BravoCon 2022, Andy Cohen introduced Sai as a cast member of the RHONY reboot.
“I just kinda had the poker face, because I’m very expressive with my face. I admit my face wasn’t embracing because I get bombarded a lot by people, and I wasn’t sure — do I know her? Is she somebody new?” Ramona recalled.
The RHONY OG says she and Sai then bonded over the influencer’s impressive and “phenomenal” Instagram page.
“Listen, I know she has half a million, I have a million [followers], but I believe women should support women, so I thought by me putting her on my Instagram — her show hadn’t aired yet — it’d gather interest for her because I want the show to be successful,” she pointed out.
After the two posed for a selfie, Ramona said she told Sai, “Well, I just wanna wish you a lot of luck, ’cause you’re gonna need it!”
While Sai took Ramona’s comment as a threat, Ramona insists she “didn’t mean you’re gonna need it in a malicious way.”
“No one realizes how difficult it is to be a reality star,” she notes.
“I’m saying, OK it could be difficult, you need some luck, you’re gonna need it, so reach out to me,” Ramona continued, adding, “Then I don’t know, she went nutty on me.”
She also claimed that the RHONY newbie “obviously misconstrued” her comment but Ramona says she still “wish[es] her the best.”
Ramona concluded by telling her daughter that she doesn’t enjoy putting other women down.
“I am a woman who supports women — that is my mantra, and it always will be. So I believe we have to be that way or I believe that’s how I have to be, so that is crazy,” she said.
Meanwhile, Sai recalled an encounter with Ramona on WWHL in July. According to the RHONY newbie, the encounter was awkward.
“Ramona was a total b-tch to me at Art Basel. I introduced myself. That didn’t go really well,” Sai confessed on WWHL. “She treated me like not a good fan, and then after that, I proceeded to say, ‘Oh, I just wanted to introduce myself. I’m on the reboot, the new era.’ She said, ‘Hey, good luck, you’re gonna need it.’”
The Real Housewives of New York airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
