We are only a week into filming for season 14 of the Real Housewives of New Jersey, and people already stirring the pot to cause drama between Melissa and Joe Gorga and Teresa Giudice.
On Saturday, RHONJ star Melissa Gorga celebrated her daughter, Antonia Gorga‘s 18th birthday. The RHONJ cameras were present as Melissa, Joe, their kids, and the Marco clan celebrated Antonia’s birthday at Elia Mediterranean Restaurant in Rutherford, NJ.
The main focus of the day was supposed to be Antonia; however, one of Melissa’s sisters couldn’t help but cause drama and take the attention away from the birthday girl.
On Instagram, Melissa’s sister, Lysa Simpson, shared a birthday tribute to Antonia. Initally, Lysa’s post seemed super sweet, but as you continued reading, you were quickly slapped in the face by Lysa taking a dig at Teresa Giudice’s four daughters – Gia, Gabriella, Milania, and Audriana.
Lysa wrote:
“My Godchild, how are you 18? I love you so much. I’m so proud of how you have weathered the storm of growing up on national TV. YOU HAVE SHOWN US NOTHING BUT GRACE. You have never said a negative thing about any of these crazy situations that you have been thrown into. I’m always here for you, and I LOVE YOU BEYOND ?@antoniagorgaa.”
Of course, Lysa’s comment about Teresa’s daughters quickly went viral all over social media, with RHONJ fans having quite a bit to say.
Before we get into what RHONJ fans had to say about the shade from Melissa’s sister, we have to report that Milania Giudice did wish Antonia a “Happy Birthday” on Instagram.
“Happy birthday, beautiful ??,” Milania commented on Antonia’s Instagram post celebrating her 18th birthday.
Meanwhile, RHONJ fans went to Lysa’s Instagram page to call her out. She quickly disabled comments on her post and began blocking anyone who called out via DM. Lysa even told one RHONJ fan to “STFU” after they called her out.
So, what are RHONJ fans saying about Lysa’s dig at the Giudice girls?
“Is nothing sacred? Just wish your niece a happy birthday without the extra bullsh*t, attention-seeking commentary,” one fan commented.
“They literally can not get Tre & her family off their minds … it’s sad … make Antonia feel special instead of being passive-aggressive towards others,” a second RHONJ fan commented.
“Ugh, this family can’t ever drop it. They’re so low budget. Celebrate your niece’s bday and move on. It’s pathetic!” a third fan commented.
A fourth fan agreed: “Weird. A time to spotlight her, her accomplishments & wonderful attributes outside of the show & she. Says. This. Oooph.”
“It’s Antonio’s birthday. Why can’t they leave the petty BS alone for ONE day??” a fifth fan quipped, while another fan commented, “So Lysa is also one of those aunts….. guess we know where Melissa gets it from.”
Another fan shared: “Why not just wish your niece a happy birthday and tell her about her amazing qualities and how much you love her …..no, make it about drama so ppl can comment this aunt is a clout chaser lol #noclass.”
RHONJ will return to Bravo for season 14 in 2024.
