RHONY star Erin Lichy addresses the gossip and false narratives going around about her political viewpoints.
A 2022 Reddit thread concerning Real Housewives of New York star Erin Lichy‘s 2020 political stance has resurfaced and gone viral on TikTok, according to a new article from Variety.
The thread shows that Erin donated to Donald Trump’s Stop the Steal campaign. The Federal Election Commission database shows that the Real Housewives of New York star donated four times to WinRed, which is the Republican Party’s Political Action Committee for fundraising, in the days after the November 3, 2020 election.
Erin donated $100 on Nov. 5 and Nov. 6. Both donations were not allocated to go into any specific fund. However, the RHONY stars $100 donations on Nov. 7 and Nov. 9 were designated for the “Trump Make America Great Again Committee.”
The Real Housewives of New York star issued a statement on Monday, July 31, via her representative to Variety. In the statement, Erin shut down claims that she is an election denier.
“Regarding the hateful and misinformed social commentary going on about me, I’d like to dispel these false narratives before they continue any further. I do not deny the election and have never supported stop the steal. I unequivocally believe that the 2020 Presidential election was fair and the President was rightfully elected,” Erin’s statement read.
Neither Erin nor her rep provided any further explanation for her post-election donations.
On July 16, Bravo relaunched the New York Housewives franchise, which stars Ubah Hassan, Jenna Lyons, Sai De Silva, Erin Lichy, Jessel Taank, and Brynn Whitfield.
The Real Housewives of New York airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
