The Real Housewives of New York reboot ratings are lower than expected despite getting positive feedback.
Following the season 14 premiere of the Real Housewives of New York on Sunday, Andy teased that more Real Housewives reboots could be coming.
On Threads, Andy Cohen did a Q&A with fans, which is when one fan asked, “Now that RHONY has had such positive feedback, are you thinking about rebooting other franchises?”
Andy replied with a thinking face emoji insinuating that Real Housewives reboots could be a new thing for Bravo. But it looks like the ratings didn’t pull in like the Bravo producer hoped. The season 14 premiere brought in 0.672 million viewers (0.22 18-49 demo)
Interesting to note that The Real Housewives of New York season 13 all-time season low had higher numbers than the season 14 premiere.
During season 13, RHONY had only 764,000 viewers tune in making episode eight an all-time low. Viewers begged Bravo to bring Dorinda Medley back but instead Bravo announced a pause following a refresh, rebooting RHONY with an all-new cast for season 14.
If ratings continue like this, Bravo may come to the realization that they made a rash decision bringing on a whole new cast.
However the ratings did do better than Sonja Morgan and Luann de Lesseps spin-off show: Crappie Lake as episode 4 brought in 0.542 million viewers.
Tons of viewers seemed surprised by the ratings saying that the Real Housewives of Dubai even performed better.
Other housewives have had spin-offs from the franchise that also did better.
Bethenny Frankel spin-off was very successful with ratings as high as 1.35 million while viewership for Teresa Giudice special, Teresa checks in averaged roughly the same with 1.3 million viewers.
