Andy Cohen Thinks Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga Can Co-Exist on RHONJ

RHONJ reunion: Andy Cohen plays referee to Melissa Gorga and Teresa Giudice

Andy Cohen says he found Melissa Gorga and Teresa Giudice’s season 13 honesty “refreshing” and believes it means they can co-exist on the show moving forward.

It’s no secret that Melissa and Teresa’s longtime feud came to a head during season 13 of the Real Housewives of New Jersey. No longer were the sisters-in-law playing nice and pretending they liked each other’s company.

While Bravo fans didn’t love seeing Melissa and Teresa’s same old drama play out for another season, Andy Cohen had a different perspective on it all.

Melissa Gorga and Teresa Giudice face off at the RHONJ reunion.

Despite Melissa and Teresa‘s feud being on repeat for the last ten seasons of RHONJ, the Watch What Happens Live host and Real Housewives executive producer found the RHONJ stars honesty about each other during season 13 “refreshing.”

Andy also believes that Melissa and Teresa can co-exist on RHONJ together without their drama taking center stage.

“I thought there was something very refreshing about them this season co-existing to the point of everyone realizing how much they hated each other,” Andy told E! News in an exclusive interview. “But they were around each other, so I think they can co-exist.”

Teresa Giudice faces off with Joe and Melissa Gorga at the RHONJ reunion

Although the Real Housewives of New Jersey season 13 reunion ended on a “pretty negative note,” Andy admits he is hopeful for better days ahead.

“We’ll see,” he said of the RHONJ’s future and the roles Melissa and Teresa will have in the franchise. “I don’t know, but we’ll see.”

Speaking of season 14, Andy addressed the rumors swirling about the next season of RHONJ in an interview with E! News late last month.

Andy Cohen looks annoyed by the drama.

Of the rumored Real Housewives of New Jersey “pause,” Andy said:

“I mean, we always take a break between seasons, so I don’t know why that is out there.”

The WWHL host also acknowledged that both Melissa and Teresa have said they are not leaving RHONJ.

Andy then hinted that viewers’ reactions to the RHONJ reunion and the Housewives would play a role in who stays and who goes for season 14 of RHONJ.

The 54-year-old said:

“We haven’t even sent out contracts yet. We’re waiting for the season to end. It hasn’t ended yet. We like to do a little deep dive on the season, see where we land, see where the viewers are, and then we can determine where we’re at.”

RHONJ currently stars Teresa Giudice, Jennifer Aydin, Dolores CataniaDanielle CabralRachel FudaMargaret Josephs, and Melissa Gorga. Jennifer Fessler and Jackie Goldschneider also appear as friends of the Housewives.

As AllAboutTRH has previously reported, the entire RHONJ cast wishes to return for season 14.

Production for season 14 of Real Housewives of New Jersey will start in late August.

I have to say if they bring Melissa and Joe back I am done! Bravo played a large part in tearing up that family. Seeing Teresa go off the stage was heartbreaking. You could tell she was genuinely hurt! For them to keep doing this is just wrong in so many ways. They need time away from one another to heal rubbing salt to wounds will just add more hostility. Andy and Bravo are going way too far. Now the kids are getting drawn into it! It makes me want to vomit!

At anytime if they are so hurt , they can give up that paycheck and leave the show! They are actors ! They can turn it on and turn it off. Please don't play into any of it! It's a show with a huge paycheck for these wannabes.

New Bravo shows they launch can not got ratings over 300,000 viewers and nights Andy does not have a HW tie in , WWHL talk show he is happy to reach a 180,000 viewership ratings…even though NJ dropped in the ratings this season to 800,000-850,000 viewers for the majority of episodes (higher for the wedding episode, reunions), this is still worlds of success better than anything else. The Dance Show, Martha Vineyards Summer House… not much new has had success above 300,000 viewers. The franchises with solid success is Below Deck franchise, Top Chef, and the LA city of the Real Estate series. So HW and VPR, their spin offs, still bring better numbers than anything new Bravo launches, so Andy pins a Rose on everything HW to make it work.

Neither of these two HWs will give up the paycheck. So yes they will co-exist. Bravo has the upper hand.
