RHONJ alum Rich Wakile shades Joe and Melissa Gorga and makes it clear that he has no interest in mending fences with them.
The bad blood between the Gorgas and the Wakiles lives on!
On Monday, Kathy Wakile‘s husband, Rich Wakile, posted on Instagram about fighting and forgiving family.
The comment read:
“No family is perfect. We argue, we fight, [and] we even stop talking to each other at times, but in the end, family is family. The love will always be there.”
However, Rich made it clear that he was NOT referring to Joe and Melissa Gorga with his comment.
Rich added: “Not for some farm animals.”
The “farm animals” dig refers to a comment Rich and Kathy’s son, Joseph Wakile, made about the Gorgas back in February 2016.
If you remember, the Bravoverse was in a tizzy when it was revealed that Joe and Melissa didn’t attend the wedding of Kathy and Rich’s daughter, Victoria Wakile.
Page Six posted about the news on their Instagram, which is when Josephs chimed in and threw shade at the Gorgas.
At the time, Joseph wrote:
“LMAO. We cut those farm animals out of our life years ago. That’s why they weren’t in attendance.”
Joe and Melissa addressed the dig while appearing on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen in March of 2016.
“Look, I know they are a little sour about not being on the show any longer, and it’s unfortunate, to be honest,” Melissa said. “I wish them all well; I love the Wakile children.”
As for Joe Gorga, he echoed similar sentiments, saying, “I’m really shocked because I’ve always loved [Joseph].”
He then went on to throw shade at Rich while admitting he loves and misses his cousin Kathy and her sister, Rosie Pierri.
“Rosie, I do miss,” Joe added. “I miss Rosie. She was my cousin from growing up. She was always there for me. So I do miss her. Richie Wakile, not so much. And that is the reason why his children are talking the way they are is because of him. Because he’s just not a nice guy.”
Kathy later addressed the drama, insisting that Joseph “didn’t mean any harm” with his comments.
“To be honest, I didn’t know about Joseph’s comments until it was plastered everywhere,” Kathy told Us Weekly on Wednesday, March 17. “Sometimes less is more; however, [my kids] Victoria and Joseph have seen a lot, heard a lot, and have watched people act without heart and compassion. While his response to a ridiculous question was sarcastic, I know he didn’t mean any harm.”
The former RHONJ star says there is no feud between her family and Gorgas and hopes they can all move forward from their past issues.
“We were a family,” she explained. “It’s sad, but you learn to keep going and surround yourself with the people that are there for the highs and for the lows, people that support you and want the highest good for you. That’s what life is about. You have to be real and authentic and live your truth.”
She added that “Victoria’s wedding had nothing to do with RHONJ” and noted that her family would continue to live “a very sweet life,” with or without their extended family.
In recent months, Melissa and Joe have revealed that they miss Kathy and Rich Wakile. Yet, it seems like the feeling isn’t mutual.
Oddly enough, the Wakiles and Gorgas will soon be neighbors as Kathy and Rich recently bought a lakefront property just doors away from Joe and Melissa’s new home in Franklin Lakes.
In February, the Wakiles purchased 267 Indian Trail Dr in Franklin Lakes for $2.6M, while the Gorgas purchased their property located at 300 Indian Trail Dr in April of 2021 for $950k. The Gorgas knocked down the house on the property and built their dream home from the ground up. After nearly two years of building, the couple moved into their new home in late 2022. Looks like the Wakiles plan to do something similar, except it’s unclear if there was an existing home on the land they purchased.
Production for season 14 of Real Housewives of New Jersey will start in late August.
