Dolores Catania Reveals She and Ex David Principe ‘Haven’t Really Spoken’ Since Their Split; Dishes On Her New Beau!

“[It was] time to move on and it was not for any reason. I’m sure he has nothing bad to say about me. I have nothing bad to say about him, but it was just time,” Dolores said of her split with David, adding that there’s no bad blood between them.

The RHONJ star told Page Six that she and David “grew apart,” last summer and “weren’t spending much time together.”

Dolores explains, “It just felt like it was time to end things. As you know, David was married to his work. But I needed more, I knew I deserved more and so, ultimately, I had to make a change.”

“I always asked him to do things that he didn’t want to, so I got used to doing things alone. I did like having that independence, but that’s not a relationship. A relationship is between two people,” she added. “If I was going to be alone and do things alone, then I might as well just be alone. I felt alone.”

Since splitting with David, Dolores has moved on with a new man, Paul Connell. The two went Instagram official with their romance in December while on vacation.

Initially, Dolores hinted about her new beau to Us Weekly, saying, “I’m very, very happy. I don’t want to say too much about it because it’s new and you don’t know what is going to happen. That’s another thing that’s hard for me, wanting to feel, like, normal and posting a picture and just having fun. I’m getting shy. All I can say is [that] I’m very happy.”

She elaborated even more about Paul, who is the CEO of Eco Electrical Services while chatting with Page Six.

According to Dolores, Paul is “much different” than David.

“I’m very happy. I can’t say too much about him because it’s new and everything. But he’s truly awesome: He likes to do things, he’s really funny, he’s very generous, he’s very handsome. And he’s so fun!” she gushes. “I’m able to let loose with him and that feels so good.”
