Family owned businesses are hurting these days, no one knows that more than the Manzo family who hasn’t seen anything like this in all their 40 years of being in business. The Manzos own The Brownstone, which has been a Jersey staple for decades for weddings and celebrations, so naturally the ‘no gathering’ rule has hurt business. So how are they getting by in this unprecedented time?
Like many family owned businesses trying to survive, The Brownstone is now available for food delivery and pickup – the first time ever doing this in their forty year history. According to Caroline’s Instagram page:
“For the first time in its nearly 40 year history [The Brownstone] is now available for individual meals on seamless, Grubhub, DoorDash, Ubereats, and curb side pick up. We appreciate all of you and want you to stay healthy and safe during this unprecedented time.”

The Brownstone also is open for Easter catering, for anyone in the Jersey area that is unable to make it to the store bu it still looking to make Easter special:

When possible, I’ve been trying to support local, family owned businesses as I can’t imagine the financial stress they are under right now. Unprecedented times often breed innovation so I applaud and support all small, local/family owned businesses that are getting creative with how they can stay afloat.
Best of luck to the Manzo family – when this is over I’m sure The Brownstone will have many celebrations to come!
