Melissa Gorga dropped on bombshell this season on The Real Housewives of New Jersey. It turns out that Melissa have a secret third sister. Melissa is the youngest of three girls, and she was shocked by the news that there is a possibility that her father who passed away may have fathered another child. Melissa talked it over with her mother and sisters and did a DNA test. During the RHONJ reunion she revealed that the DNA test did not show that she had any other siblings as of right now. Many people have been wondering if the sister the psychic meant, was her sister-in-law Teresa Giudice.

During the reunion, host Andy Cohen, asks Teresa how she feels about Melissa’s search for her “long-lost sister” that a psychic told her about. Teresa said that she is a little offended by it. Teresa said, “She has a sister right here. Just saying, you have a sister-in-law here that you should treat more like a sister, and I feel like you don’t.” Melissa replied, “I don’t treat you like a sister?” Melissa was then also offended by that. Then Teresa said, “I mean, you always seem to side up with other people that are against me.”
Many people have been speculating that the psychic meant that Teresa is actually the sister that she was referencing. They are sister-in-laws after all. However; Melissa recently clarified to ET that the psychic told her that her third sister is her father’s child. Melissa shared, “Everyone keeps saying that to me! Like, where you getting this from? It’s my dad having another child is what they said.” However; Melissa did state that she does think of Teresa as her real sister and they are okay now after the reunion.
Melissa recently gave an update on her search for her sister to Bravo’s The Daily Dish podcast. Melissa explained, “I did the 23andMe and I feel like if it’s meant to be and this girl is out there she’s going to also do it and if she has an inkling that my father is her father, she’ll do it; she’ll do the test and I’ll find her. When it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be. If not, I’m not going to look any further into it other than I did the test, if she happens to catch a glimpse of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, if somebody says to her, ‘Hey that good-looking Italian guy that’s your daddy is also Melissa Gorga’s dad; get the test going,’ and somebody pops up that’s my sister, well, then we have a situation. Otherwise, I’m not really going to walk around and scream for her on the street.”
I was as shocked as Melissa by this storyline this season, I was not expecting this bombshell at all. It is possible that she could have a long lost third sister, but she might not have one out there at all. If she does I’m sure they will find their way to one another. I think it’s good that Melissa and her family discussed this situation and did the tests. I’m glad to hear that Melissa and Teresa are on good terms again, after their reunion blowout. The reunion episodes are always brutal but at the end of the day, family is family. I’m glad that Melissa does feel like Teresa is her true sister. I hope that next season is more about them on good terms and their sisterhood!
