Despite writing a book on a happy marriage, Melissa and Joe Gorga have had some work to do this season.

Joe insulted Melissa (and women everywhere) where he expected his wife to stay at home and even insulted her income as mere ‘crumbs’ compared to his ‘cake!’ Melissa has stated that she wanted to make her own income to be successful on her own. As her children are getting older I do think it’s good that she has her own thing that she can focus on and continue to grow.

In a preview for an upcoming episode of RHONJ, Joe attempts to apologize to his wife and even takes a turn in the kitchen. Joe cooks Melissa a romantic meal and attempts to prove he isn’t a complete jerk. Despite saying ‘sorry’ Joe proves he’s still Joe by saying he doesn’t need Melissa’s money but he’s still sorry for insulting her. Check out the clip below and let us know what you think:

While the act was sweet this scene seemed staged and a little too perfect. I’m thinking Joe knew he looked like an ass on camera and needed to apologize to save face. I think Joe may be proud of Melissa but it’s no secret that he would prefer her at home and in the kitchen. He still doesn’t exactly seemed thrilled that she’s a working woman.

What did you think of the clip? Do you think Joe’s apology was sincere? Thoughts on him calling his income ‘cake’ while Melissa’s was considered ‘crumbs’??
