Now That NONE of the RHONY Are Married – How Does Luann DeLesseps Plan to Avoid the Curse?

Jules Wainstein’s divorce was pretty much the final farewell to lasting relationships on RHONY. Currently all of the “housewives” are not currently ‘wives’ making the show’s title pretty ironic. Although a few were tragically widowed (Carole and Dorinda) the majority of marriages ended up in (messy) divorces.

With Luann’s second wedding coming up, fans have her wondering why she is flaunting her love on the reality show where marriages go to divorce court. Luann is so confident that she found her soulmate this time around, she’s not batting an eye at the supposed “reality TV curse.”

For starters, Luann is avoiding a TV wedding as she feels the stress of this can lead to an unhappy start to a marriage. Talking to E!, Luann states:

“I adore Tom and I want to be happy. I don’t want to have the Housewives curse so I don’t think that’s something I’m willing to do. I think there’s a lot to be learned from Housewives wedding specials. I think the only person who has been able to pull it off is Kim Zolciak-Biermann.”

“I think your husband needs to really be into it. The person or partner you’re going to be with really needs to be in it and you know, Tom is a very private person and I respect that.”

Second, although we may see Tom appearing on RHONY any drama that goes on between them isn’t going to be a storyline for the Countess:

“I think that unfortunately for some of the women on these shows, they don’t have a lot going on in their life and they feel pressured to maybe talk about divorce and talk about what they are going through in their real life. That’s sometimes a decision people make that I don’t agree with.”

“I don’t think you have to air all of your dirty laundry on television. I think your family is more important than your reality TV life.”

Despite this being her second time being a bride, Luann is going all out with the band, huge guest list and designer dress:

“I’m starting to look at wedding dresses. I got the band lined up. I got the flowers organized. The caterer is all set so now it’s getting the invites out, getting my dresses and organizing the whole weekend. It’s a destination wedding so there’s a lot going on.”

While I’m happy for Lu, I feel if you REALLY want to make your new relationship work – stay off camera! It’s hard enough when you are an established couple; but when your man has dated half the cast, I find it hard to believe their drama won’t end up as a storyline.

Do you think this is the one for Luann? Do you think they should stay off camera?
