RHONJ’s Teresa Giudice’s husband Joe Giudice has been in court for fraudulently obtaining a driver’s license under his brother Pete’s identity. Joe has rejected a plea deal of five years in prison and has decided to stand trial instead.
The date was supposed to be announced on October 1, 2012 but the judge postponed it until October 29 for no announced reason. Joe and his attorney will be in court on the 29th to hear the date for the trial, where Joe can face up to 10 years in prison if found guilty. Miles Feinstein, Joe’s lawyer, believes that Joe should be eligible for probation because he never had prior convictions and is having a more difficult time because of his notorious celebrity status, so they will be going to trial.
I hope for the sake of his children that Joe’s lawyer is right with his assumptions in the case, however, he still did the crime and will have to face the consequences of that. Do you think Joe will get away with just probation, or will he be given jail time?
