Dorinda Medley Reveals Why She Finally Said Yes to E!’s The Golden Life

Dorinda Medley is stepping into what she’s calling her “Golden” era, and according to her, the decision came after a lot of back and forth, and a little bit of drama.

During Reality Checked on SiriusXM, the former Real Housewives of New York City star opened up about joining E!’s new series, The Golden Life, and made it clear this wasn’t some impulsive career move. In fact, she had been wavering for quite some time.

“And it’s so funny because people, you know, I had been in talks with them going back and forth, back and forth, back and forth,” Dorinda explained. “And I actually was thinking, you know, really seriously coming to terms of if I would do it or not.”

At first, Dorinda wasn’t even considering a full-time role. She revealed that her original plan was far more low-key.

“It would just be a friend and pop in.”

But then something shifted. And if you’re a Bravo fan, you can probably guess what she’s hinting at.

“And then after everything happened with Jill and the debacle, I thought, let me just hang my hat here. Let me just go for it.”

She even acknowledged the network’s direction, saying, “Right now, you know, they’ve made a commitment to, you know, as we learn from BravoCon to just sort of move, keep, which is great. Keep moving forward with the new girl.”

Translation? Bravo is pushing ahead with fresh faces, and Dorinda isn’t waiting around to see if she gets a call.

Instead, she’s embracing change, enthusiastically.

“The fire horse is coming in. Change is good.”

Only Dorinda could reference a fire horse and make it sound like a full-blown rebirth moment. But the message was clear: she’s done hesitating.

“So, you know, we have to, what do they say? You can’t keep baby in the corner. Is that it?”
