Lisa Rinna Apologizes After Andy Cohen Confronts Her For "Mouthing Off" Over Titanic Comparison

Lisa Rinna is revisiting old Bravo wounds, and this time, Andy Cohen is at the center of it.

During a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s The Julia Cunningham Show, the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star opened up about lingering tension with Cohen after he included her private text messages in one of his books. Rinna is currently promoting her upcoming memoir, You Better Believe I’m Gonna Talk About It, set for release February 24, and made it clear she has her own story to tell.

“I’m fine with him today,” Rinna said of her current relationship with Cohen, before revealing she did not consult him ahead of writing her memoir. “He’s written his own books and done what he’s done. You know… he put my personal text messages in his book.”

Host Julia Cunningham noted that Cohen had warned Rinna she would appear in the book, though not exactly how. Rinna said she suspected something was coming — but not to that extent.

“Well, I had an idea,” she explained. “But then when I read it and they were personal text messages to basically my boss… and to have them show up in a book, I was like, ‘Wow, wow, wow.’”

While she didn’t name the book directly, Rinna appeared to be referring to Cohen’s 2023 release The Daddy Diaries: The Year I Grew Up, where excerpts of her texts were reportedly included. She teased that readers will get her side of the story in her memoir, saying, “Don’t give it away, but you gotta read what happened.”

Rinna and Cohen’s dynamic has always been layered. During her eight-season run on RHOBH, she was one of the franchise’s most polarizing figures, and their relationship often blurred the line between boss and cast member. Even after her 2023 exit, the tension occasionally resurfaced.

Earlier this year, Rinna reflected on a moment where she apologized to Cohen for comparing RHOBH to the Titanic. She later admitted on her own podcast that the interaction triggered old habits.

“I fall back into a role that I played… where I give my power to Andy Cohen, who is my boss,” she said. “Almost like a little girl going back to the role she plays in her family.”

Despite past friction, the two were seen sharing a friendly exchange on a red carpet last August, suggesting the relationship is cordial — if complicated.

Since leaving Bravo, Rinna has leaned fully into fashion, media, and now authorship. Her memoir promises a deeper look at her career, her marriage to Harry Hamlin, and her time in the Housewives universe — including moments she feels weren’t told on her terms.

And judging by her latest comments, she’s ready to reclaim the narrative.

I’m TEAM RINNA here. I just think private correspondence should remain private unless you have the express permission of the one who sent it to make it public. Now are we all pretty much technically guilty of that when we’ve shared texts and forwarded emails w/o due diligence?Sure. I know I am, and I make no excuses for that BUT my reach IS extremely limited in general, and I’ve shared nothing with the general public. And to be clear, I’m talking about personal standards of ethics/ morals, not standards of legality. Obviously AC was within his legal rights to do what he did. I’m not even suggesting he should be excoriated for it, BUT I do consider it a betrayal of confidence and a (relatively small) moral failure. JMO ymmv.

Just because it's legal, doesn't make it right. Publishing someone's texts is such a totally uncool betrayal, but I wouldn't expect anything less from a petty and vengeful little twerp like Andy Cohen. I'm so looking forward to the day WHEN it all comes crashing down on him.

She should’ve made him sign an NDA but then she wouldn’t have ever been on the show. Stupid of her to ever think one can trust a snake.
