Kenya Moore is revealing why she won’t be part of Bravo’s massive plans to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Real Housewives franchise — and she says it all comes down to “legal” issues.
While Bravo is currently filming Real Housewives: Ultimate Road Trip with dozens of iconic Housewives from across the franchise, Kenya confirmed that she was not invited to participate in the special.
During a recent video on her YouTube channel, Kenya addressed a fan who asked whether viewers would see her on the upcoming spin-off.
“At this moment, no,” Kenya said. “It has nothing to do with whether they thought I was a legendary Housewife or not.”
She went on to suggest that behind-the-scenes legal matters are preventing her from being involved.
“Yeah, that’s a whole different legal thing that I think the powers that be are weighing out right now,” she added.
Although Kenya didn’t spell out exactly what legal situation she was referring to, her absence comes amid ongoing fallout from a major controversy during season 16 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Earlier this year, reports revealed that Kenya was removed from the full-time cast mid-production after she allegedly displayed compromising photos of former RHOA cast member Brit Eady at a filmed event.
Months later, Eady filed a lawsuit against Bravo, NBC, and the show’s production companies, alleging defamation, emotional distress, sexual harassment, and a hostile work environment.
According to court filings cited in reports, the lawsuit claims:
“Defendants willfully, intentionally, recklessly, and/or with gross negligence produced, edited, and aired an episode of RHOA on April 6, 2025, that included footage of certain of the cast member’s statements at issue as well as commentary from other cast members that described the photographs displayed.”
Despite Kenya’s absence, Bravo’s anniversary project is expected to feature more than 60 Housewives, with a main group traveling to multiple franchise cities.
The principal cast reportedly includes Porsha Williams, Vicki Gunvalson, Teresa Giudice, Kyle Richards, Lisa Barlow, Gizelle Bryant, and LuAnn de Lesseps, with stops planned in cities like Atlanta, Beverly Hills, and the Berkshires.
Kenya also didn’t hold back when it came to Bravo’s casting decisions — saying she believes the network “missed the mark” when it comes to Atlanta representation.
According to Kenya, bringing back OG staples like NeNe Leakes or Shereé Whitfield in a lead role would have made more sense than selecting Porsha Williams.
Her comments come just days after Bravo confirmed that NeNe Leakes will be returning to the network as part of the anniversary celebration — marking her first major Bravo appearance in years.
In an emotional video shared recently, NeNe described her return as the end of a “really long, long journey.”
“I’m happy, overjoyed to say that I will be returning to Bravo,” NeNe said.
