Andy Cohen is teasing major things ahead for The Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip, and it sounds like production has already been anything but smooth.
During a live episode of SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, Andy revealed that the highly anticipated special — which is celebrating 20 years of the Housewives franchise — is currently in the middle of filming across multiple iconic Bravo cities.
“We’ve been filming, as you guys have seen online, ‘Ultimate Girls Trip,’” Andy shared. “It’s kind of, we’re celebrating 20 years of the Housewives.”
According to Andy, the cast has already made stops in several Housewives hubs — and there’s more still to come.
“They’ve already been to Orange County. They have been to Beverly Hills. They were in Atlanta over the weekend,” he said. “They’re now in Miami. They have one more stop after that.”
While fans may be seeing glamorous photos on social media, Andy admitted that production has been dealing with some serious behind-the-scenes challenges — including major weather issues.
“I have to say, the production team is doing a yeoman’s job because they were fighting the ice storm in Atlanta,” Andy revealed. “And then we had to think of an unconventional way to get them to Miami, but we got them there.”
Despite the chaos, Andy praised both production and the Housewives themselves for pushing through.
“I give it up to the women because they’re troopers,” he said. “The main cast of that show, they are absolutely troopers.”
Andy also made it clear that while fans will have to wait to see it all play out on screen, the special is shaping up to be a must-watch.
“I’m very excited about this show,” he added. “It’s not going to be on until later this year, but boy, oh, boy, is this gonna be great.”
In another fun reveal, Andy shared that former Real Housewives of New York City star Alex McCord — one of the original NYC Housewives — will be stopping by his show to talk about the project.
“By the way, on Thursday’s episode of Andy Cohen Live, we’ve got Alex McCord in the studio,” Andy said. “She’s coming in for ‘Ultimate Girls Trip,’ so one of the OGs from New York. So, I’m excited to talk to her. I haven’t talked to her publicly in a very long time.”
Andy even joked about how rarely they’ve stayed in touch.
“She and I email probably once a year,” he laughed. “We email. Something like that.”
Co-host John Hill then chimed in with a surprising update about Alex’s life now.
“Is she a therapist now?” John asked.
“She is,” Andy confirmed.
“I would like for her to be maybe my therapist,” John joked.
With multiple cities, OG Housewives, weather drama, and surprise appearances already in play, it sounds like Ultimate Girls Trip is gearing up to be one of Bravo’s biggest and messiest celebrations yet.
