Margaret Josephs Says She’s Moved On From Teresa Giudice

When Margaret Josephs talks about power, she often dresses it up as lifestyle advice. Organization. Editing. Decluttering. It sounds polished. It also reveals how she views her role on The Real Housewives of New Jersey.

During a recent appearance on the Tidy Tidbits podcast, Margaret was asked if she could “declutter people.” She did not hesitate. Teresa Giudice, the most recognizable figure in the franchise, landed squarely in the “throw it out” pile.

Margaret explained, “We’ve decluttered each other. It’s gone too far. There’s nothing to be said.”

The comment was quick. The implication was not.

Margaret also addressed her former friendship with Jackie Goldschneider, placing her in a softer category. Jackie, according to Margaret, was “handled with grace but no longer in rotation.” One cast member avoided exile altogether. Dolores Catania earned a permanent spot. Margaret shared, “Dolores and I talk almost every day.”

On a cast built on shifting alliances, labels like these are not casual. They are positioning.

To understand why Margaret’s remark about Teresa hit a nerve, you have to look at the history of The Real Housewives of New Jersey.

RHONJ did not develop around an ensemble in the traditional sense. It was built around Teresa. From the first season, her family life, financial rise and fall, legal battles, and public redemption shaped the series. Her table flip became reality TV lore. Her prison sentence changed how personal Bravo was willing to go. Her return delivered ratings other franchises still chase.

Cast members have come and gone. Storylines have shifted. Teresa has remained the constant.

That context makes the idea of “decluttering” her feel less like growth and more like revisionist history.

Teresa is not excess. She is infrastructure. Network promotion still centers on her. Major arcs still move through her decisions. Even cast members who oppose her often do so because proximity to Teresa guarantees relevance.

Margaret joined the show seasons later. Her role has largely lived in reaction, commentary, and opposition. That does not make her unimportant, but it does limit her authority to declare who stays and who goes.

There is also a difference in how both women handle conflict.

Teresa speaks emotionally. Loyalty, betrayal, family, hurt. It is messy, but it is direct. Margaret prefers curated language. Clean exits. Neatly packaged conclusions. Saying “there’s nothing to be said” shuts the door without acknowledging the weight of what is being dismissed.

Fans notice. So does Bravo.

Teresa continues to carry the franchise because she shows up, even when it costs her. Divorce, family fractures, legal consequences, public scrutiny. She films through it all. That consistency is why viewers stay invested.

Margaret’s podcast moment may read as confidence. It may also read as a misunderstanding of how this show actually works.

You can declutter accessories. You cannot discard the foundation and expect the house to stand.

What a load of horse shit. The show wasn't built around Teresa from the beginning as you state. The show was built around the Manzo/Laurita families with Teresa as the dim witted family sidekick and Danielle as the slutty outsider. It only started slowly shifting towards Teresa and her family after Dina and Danielle left and even then it was still mostly built around the Manzo/Laurita family. It was only after Carolyn left and Jacqueline went cuckoo that focus shifted onto Teresa.
