Dr. Terry Dubrow is addressing rumors head-on, and doing so with humor, honesty, and a dose of reality.
During a recent episode of the Between Us podcast, which he co-hosts with his wife and Real Housewives of Orange County star Heather Dubrow, the longtime plastic surgeon spoke candidly about speculation surrounding his sexuality.
“What’s the latest rumor? I’m gay, right?” Terry asked on the podcast. “The pathetic thing about the rumor about me being gay is,”
Heather quickly jumped in to shut it down.
“it’s just so stupid,” she said. “Why would we live like that? Why would we hide that?”
Terry went on to explain why the rumor makes no sense to him, especially given how openly he and Heather live their lives.
“If I’m gay in this long-term relationship, please feel bad for me because I’m not living my true life. I’m having a life of dissatisfaction. If I were gay, I would be really happy about it. And I would celebrate it. And by the way, I would be a lot wealthier because I would have married a guy who was very, very successful right away, and we don’t spend money the way women spend money.”
Terry later circled back to the broader topic of rumors within the Bravo universe, referencing speculation that once surrounded Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards.
“But gay-friendly as we are, why would we live a lie like that?” Terry asked, before continuing, “There was a rumor that Kyle Richards was gay during her marriage, which I’m sure there wasn’t, Maybe that’s true. Maybe — although women can be bi, guys can’t be bi. Guys are only gay or not.”
Heather added her perspective, noting a trend she’s observed.
“There’s a lot of women right now divorcing men and ending up with women,” she said. “All I know is that Kyle said, when asked about it, she said, ‘I could go Brad, I could go Angelina.’”
“So there you go. That’s bi,” Terry responded.
“And that is perfect,” Heather concluded.
