It turns out time really did heal some wounds between Monique Samuels and Dr. Wendy Osefo, at least according to the latest Real Housewives of Potomac After Show.
Following Monique’s surprise return on RHOP Season 10, Episode 7, both ladies opened up about their unexpected reactions to seeing each other for the first time in nearly five years. And yes — there were smiles, hugs, and even a little dancing.
Monique admitted she “was shocked” by Wendy’s warm welcome when she showed up to Ashley Darby’s Pride pre-game. The former Housewife said Wendy “immediately” appeared happy to see her and was literally dancing when she walked in.
“So, that was really cool,” Monique shared, noting that they hadn’t spoken at all since filming the explosive RHOP Season 5 reunion back in November 2020.
“I have not talked to Wendy or seen Wendy since reunion — like, at all,” Monique said. “Like, I blocked everybody except for Ashley. So, the last time we left, it was like she was coming for me at the reunion … pretty heavy.”
She went on to say things ended on an uneasy note years ago.
“It just kind of left on a note where it was really weird, and her and I hadn’t even really gotten to know each other.”
What made that disconnect even stranger, Monique explained, was that during filming they actually clicked.
“We hit it off, like, right away,” she said. “We had so much in common, even the ages of our kids.”
So when they finally reunited, Monique said it didn’t feel like tension at all — more like nostalgia.
“It felt like we kind of went back to that moment versus back to reunion where we left off. It felt like catching up with an old friend.”
Wendy shared a similar sentiment on the After Show, admitting she had no clue Monique was returning.
“I was so surprised; I had no idea she was coming,” Wendy said. She added that she’s in a peaceful place these days, which shaped her reaction. “And I’m in such a zen place, I wanted to, like, naturally just give her a hug.”
For Wendy, the moment was simple but meaningful: “It was good to see her face, yeah.”
