Porsha Williams is speaking out after police released bodycam video tied to the incident that led to her being escorted off a Delta Airlines flight following her BravoCon weekend in Las Vegas.
The Atlanta Police Department confirmed that Williams and another passenger “may have been involved in a verbal dispute that reportedly escalated into a physical dispute during an inbound flight to Atlanta.” The footage, obtained by TMZ, shows Williams exiting the aircraft on Sunday, Nov. 16, accompanied by law enforcement after the plane returned to the Las Vegas airport.
Williams’ attorney, Joe Habachy, says the initial reports don’t reflect what took place onboard. According to Habachy, Williams left the flight only after she was “verbally assaulted by an irate and unhinged passenger without provocation.” He added that “the passenger then proceeded to make false allegations that were in direct conflict with observations from several eyewitnesses.”
Habachy also noted that federal involvement is routine in situations like this. “As with any incident occurring aboard an aircraft, federal authorities are required to conduct an investigation involving all parties to determine what, if any, offenses occurred.”
He says Williams is cooperating fully and remains confident in the outcome. She “has every intention of cooperating with law enforcement to whatever extent necessary, and remains confident that the passenger will be charged.”
Federal officials have acknowledged the case is under review. A spokesperson for FBI Atlanta told PEOPLE, “FBI Atlanta is aware of an incident on a Delta flight on November 16th allegedly involving Porsha Williams and/or at least one other person. We are looking to see whether any federal charges may or may not apply.”
Delta Airlines also confirmed the altercation, telling TMZ that two passengers were involved and that the flight continued and landed in Atlanta as scheduled.
