Lisa Barlow Addresses Viral Makeup Malfunction and What Led to Her Confessional Look

Lisa Barlow is setting the record straight about the confessional glam moment that had Real Housewives of Salt Lake Cityfans talking. After appearing on a recent Season 6 episode with a dramatic smoky eye, on just one side, and what many described as a misplaced false eyelash, social media lit up with reactions, jokes, and memes. Now, Barlow is speaking out.

Lisa Barlow Addresses Viral Makeup Malfunction and What Led to Her Confessional Look 3

During an appearance on the September 30 episode of Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen didn’t waste time bringing up the now-infamous look. Barlow began by saying, “I love my glam team. I would never throw anyone under the bus,” prompting Cohen to tease, “Sounds like you’re about to.”

She also made it clear there were no hard feelings with her makeup artist, despite the backlash online. “I love her. Everyone has bad days,” she added.

The internet certainly had a field day. A Reddit post quickly surfaced speculating whether Barlow’s makeup artist had simply forgotten the other eye. Fans shared screenshots and reactions across platforms, turning the moment into an unexpected viral sensation.

Barlow took the moment in stride, acknowledging the confusion and criticism. “It wasn’t one of my best looks,” she said. “It was kind of KPOP-ish. Not intentional. We had a redo.”

To address the situation, Barlow confirmed that she reshot the confessional with a fresh face of makeup after the original aired. And while the glam mishap wasn’t ideal, her response proved that a little humor and humility can go a long way in the world of Housewives.

In the end, Lisa Barlow didn’t just survive the internet’s reaction—she owned it.

Lisa shouldn't feel bad; the entire HW galaxy are made up like clowns. Apparently these "glam team" all come from the world of live theater or drag, and haven't grasped the concept that "less is more". I'm still hoping Lisa gets around to explaining what the "12 strings" (temporary facelift) thing is all about. Sounds like the brutal way the old stars did it back during the golden age of Hollywood.

I think re: the 12 strings she is talking about pdo threads which are just dissolvable sutures that surgeons use for internal stitches except they are made to just insert, not sew. As they dissolve over 6-8 mos., they build collagen. There’s also the lifting kind (which I’m assuming she’s talking about with the ‘12 strings’ ) that are inserted, pulled tightly then clipped and buried in the skin. Those are more dramatic. Anywho, the collagen you build starts to break down shortly after the threads completely dissolve (6-8 mos.), so it’s temporary but because it is your own body building your own collagen, it’s very natural looking. No scars, no down time, just subtle rejuvenation.

I had it done, it was good till it wasn’t, only lasted for a few months and was $3000, plus the in-office procedure is done with no anesthesia or anything and it hurt like hell! I had to go back to get one side fixed but will never do it again.

I think I saw this done on the HWs of Toronto by a plastic surgeon who was a former pro hockey player. I almost passed out watching it. It looked like it did hurt like hell.

I believe it was Marlene Dietrich (or was it Lucille Ball?) or one of those old stars who wrote about it back in the day ... how before shooting or appearing live, they would pull back their faces under the hairline with needles and thread (often without Novocaine or local anesthetics. They only had a little amount of time before the blood would start running (and stinging!) under the hot studio lights.

Yikes, just one side? Sounds very stroke-like.

? it was for my saggy jowls and one side wasn’t pulled back as much as the other side so yes, I definitely looked wonky ? My friend and I booked back to back appointments to get it done but after watching me get it done first she freaked out and backed out of her appointment and paid the cancellation fee.

Gravity is definitely setting in, and I'm learning that despite working out like a fiend, staying fit, it's a losing battle. It's e easier for guys I know, but I'm just going ala natural. I think the key is hanging with people our own age (where we can all relate and just laugh about it:-)

I watched the WWHL show and she owned it with humor. BTW, I thought she looked amazing on WWHL...much better than she looks this season on camera.
