There’s never a dull moment in the OC, and Emily Simpson just stirred the pot again. Despite once calling Alexis Bellino “the dumbest girl I’ve ever met,” it turns out Emily would rather share screen time with her than newcomer Katie Ginella.
“I would take Alexis any day over Katie,” Emily declared to US Weekly, adding a colorful comparison: “Alexis is like a Labrador. She’s a dingdong, but it’s to your face. Katie’s the kind of person that you don’t know what she’s doing behind closed doors. That’s scary.”
While Katie may be working to carve out a spot in the group, Emily doesn’t see it happening easily.
“I don’t see any way other than, I can clearly see that she’s trying through Tamra [Judge],” she observed.
Season 19 of The Real Housewives of Orange County brings back the familiar cast, minus Alexis, who’s stepping away from her “friend of” role. In her place, former RHOC staple Gretchen Rossi is back in the mix.
It’s a surprising shift, especially considering Emily’s past digs at Alexis.
“I don’t have hard feelings towards Alexis,” she explained. “I think that she went wrong in a lot of things that she did, and I think if she self-reflected, she probably understands that she did do things.”
Still, don’t expect to see Emily toasting at Alexis and John’s wedding anytime soon.
“Absolutely not,” she said when asked if she’d attend. “If she invited me, I wouldn’t go. It would hurt Shannon’s feelings. I would never do that.”
Loyalty runs deep, and in the OC, that’s saying something.
