The new season of Real Housewives of Orange County has certainly stirred up reactions, but few have been as blunt as alum Kelly Dodd. Watching the premiere, Kelly took to Instagram to share her unfiltered thoughts, criticizing everything from the storyline to the cast dynamics.
Reflecting on the drama surrounding Emily Simpson and the ongoing controversy with her former nanny, Kelly said, “I just watched the Orange County Housewives. I was going to recap the season, but it’s so obnoxious. I don’t think Katie is lying about what her kid said about Heather. I think that is true. I find Emily to be very obnoxious this year.”
Emily’s legal drama became a focal point, as she revealed hiring a lawyer after her former nanny’s claim that Emily’s kids spoke negatively about Heather Dubrow. Kelly weighed in with a blunt take: “You know, kids don’t like Heather. No kids like Heather. All my friends know Heather. No kids like going over to Heather’s house. That’s true.”
On Emily’s choice to “lawyer up,” Kelly didn’t hold back: “I think she needs to go back to law school because you can’t sue for the truth. Those kids did say that about Heather, and we all know it. You can’t sue for defamation. You’re a public figure. She’s a lawyer, she should know that. Go back to law school.”
Kelly also took issue with Emily’s decision to share personal details about her child’s health on camera. Calling it “obnoxious,” she stated, “It’s just so obnoxious, and so I can’t watch it.”
The former Housewife didn’t stop there, expressing frustration over the cast’s dynamics: “Then Emily yelling at Katie like she’s her boss. Why are they all ganging up on Katie? It’s the same old thing.”
And Kelly wasn’t impressed by some of the new additions either: “Gina, she’s so boring. And the boyfriend is a dud, okay. And their house is, I’m sorry, nothing to look at.” She also indicated that no one she knows that live in Orange County that have homes that look that way.
Clearly, Kelly Dodd is not holding back her opinions this season, keeping the drama alive both on and off the screen.
