Reality star Larsa Pippen isn’t one to shy away from the truth, and recently she’s been candid about the ups and downs of friendships and family on The Real Housewives of Miami.
In a heartfelt conversation on Teresa Giudice’s Turning the Tables podcast, Larsa reflected on her changing perspective about friendships, especially with former close friend Lisa Hochstein. She shared a valuable insight many can relate to:
“At my age, I’m finally figuring out that you can be social friends with someone, and not necessarily close friends with someone.”
Fans have watched Lisa’s turbulent divorce from Lenny Hochstein unfold on the show, and Larsa stood by her side through it all. Yet when Larsa went through her own breakup with Marcus Jordan, she found herself needing support that wasn’t fully returned.
“I was really there for her. With this past breakup of mine (with Marcus Jordan), I needed her to be a friend. It just sucks when you are there for someone and it’s not reciprocated. I felt really hurt by it all,” Larsa told Parade magazine on June 12, 2025. “When my friends are down and out, I am so there for them. I try to do more than I normally would, because I feel like they need it. It’s hurtful when other people don’t reciprocate the way that I do.”
Despite the strain on that friendship, Larsa’s spirits stayed high during the filming of RHOM’s seventh season.
“This season was so much fun. We went on great trips, we had so many good times, made amazing memories. I feel like this season is probably our best season yet. I obviously had some lows, but they were kind of growing pains for me.”
More than just entertainment, Larsa hopes her story sends a powerful message.
“Showing other women that you can be who you want to be, you can do what you want to do, you don’t have to be just a housewife … I think, to me, that’s the most impactful thing that you can do,” she shared.
Another aspect of Larsa’s life that fans respect is her approach to co-parenting with ex-husband Scottie Pippen. Despite their split, she maintains a positive and respectful relationship for the sake of their children.
“I feel like we had a successful relationship. Twenty years is a successful relationship, and we have four amazing kids together. We co-parent together, we talk all the time, I want him to win; he wants me to win. We’re like, really good friends. We’re almost like family. It’s like, you can never be mad at your family, so it’s kind of like that. And so I could never sit here and bash my ex-husband. That would be so crazy, and it would hurt my kids. It’s just bad energy. I would never do that,” Larsa declared.
