Navigating your 20s is challenging enough without having your family’s private struggles play out in public. For Next Gen NYC star Ariana Biermann, this has been her reality as her parents, Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Kim Zolciak and former NFL player Kroy Biermann, continue their very public and ongoing divorce.
In a recent conversation on Housewives Nightcap with Access Hollywood, Ariana opened up about how she’s managing her relationships with both parents amidst the tension. “I try to keep my relationship with them very separate,” she shared. Despite the drama in the headlines, Ariana says she avoids the media coverage entirely. “I don’t read the tabloids, I don’t want to know, I don’t like to know. It’s been a difficult couple of years, but [we’re] definitely trying to stay together as much as a family, in whatever ways to get through this.”
Kim and Kroy first filed for divorce in 2023, and while they have yet to finalize it, they are now living separately and co-parenting their younger children. Ariana, who is now an adult, has had to navigate a more independent relationship with her father. Speaking to The Daily Dish in May, she admitted, “I haven’t spoken to him in a little bit,” though she added that he had been trying to reconnect. “I hope he’s doing amazing,” she said. “I think it’s a really tough situation right now, between the family, and it goes through waves.”
Despite the difficult split, Ariana says it has had a surprising upside—bringing her closer to her mom and sister. Appearing on Gia Giudice’s podcast Casual Chaos, she shared, “The whole situation of everything brought me and my mom, and my sister closer. And we’re kind of like the three best friends, which I’m really grateful for.”
Ariana also revealed that her mom, Kim, is doing well in her new home. “She was living in the basement of our old house… so I think for her, it’s almost like a really nice, fresh start,” she told The Daily Dish.
Still, the process hasn’t been without heartbreak. Ariana reflected on her past hopes for a reconciliation, saying, “I would pray for them to get back together literally every night.” But now, she admits, “I think at this point, though, unfortunately, there is too much damage to be done.”
Looking ahead, Ariana and her siblings may soon be facing a legal milestone in the divorce proceedings. “We’re all going to have to go to court and give our testimonies and witness statements and everything,” she revealed. “And it’s just the most insane thing ever.”
While the future remains uncertain, Ariana’s maturity and openness show just how resilient she’s become through it all—staying grounded, close to family, and focused on moving forward.
