Kyle Richards is setting the record straight about her headline-making encounter involving a woman walking her dogs—a moment that quickly escalated and went viral. Now, she’s addressing claims that she hid behind her friend Teddi Mellencamp during the ordeal, and according to Kyle, that’s simply not true.

Speaking candidly on her Amazon Live, Kyle Richards walked fans through the incident, which took place after a hike and lunch outing with Teddi.

“We’d gone on a hike, then went to eat, and we were walking back. We see this lady who has her three dogs, and they’re all tangled… Next thing you know, the one dog is, like, choking and it’s under the other dogs… And I said, ‘Excuse me, your dogs are all tangled up.’ She said something kinda rude, like mind your own business or something,” Kyle recalled.

Things escalated quickly. “She started crossing the street, and the dog is, like, being choked on the cement… I was like, am I going to be that person who just doesn’t say anything and just says that’s horrible?”

That’s when Kyle Richards stepped in. “So I start chasing her. I’m like, ‘Quit dragging your dogs.’ I’m literally yelling at this woman… The woman was threatening me. I was filming her just in case she hit me.”

Kyle also responded to online claims that she was “hiding” behind Teddi during the incident, which took place while Teddi is publicly battling brain cancer.

“Of course, the paparazzi were like Kyle is hiding behind Teddi. I’m not hiding behind Teddi. She was threatening me,” Kyle stated firmly.

She didn’t hold back her opinion of the woman, either: “Long story short. She should not own animals. That’s all I can say. I just didn’t want to be that person that didn’t say anything. My mom was not like that. My mom always taught me to speak up especially [since] animals don’t have their own voice.”

The Amazon Live session ended on a lighter note when Kyle’s daughter, Alexia, jumped in to answer a fan question about possibly joining The Real Housewives franchise. “If they’re taking applications, absolutely,” she joked. Kyle, however, wasn’t on board, saying no—though Alexia added with a smile, “Do you know how much fun that would be?”

From standing up for animals to pushing back against false narratives, Kyle made one thing clear: she’s not afraid to speak up.

I never even hesitate to say (or do) something; from seeing idiots walking their dogs on 120 degree asphalt, riding a bike while the poor dog on a leash tries to keep up (in the middle of August), to more blatant cruelty. First I start with words, and when that doesn't work, it can get ugly ... and I'll leave it at that.

I don't like Kyle, but she's right about this. Always call out animal cruelty.

Hmmm... I wonder how "hero" Kyle" just happened to be in front of the paparazzi when this happened. Do you think she hired the dog walker to act out this scene too?

Always speak up for animals, we are the voices of the voiceless. Having said that, sugar works so much better to get a kind point across to the abuser. If that doesn't work, call the animal precinct at the police station, they show up immediately & will do the right thing for the poor helpless creatures. She Always has her darn phone available. Mama sure taught Kyle a lot of things, but honesty, cowardice is not among them. Mama also taught her to be a manipulative hypocrite. Kyle, do me a big favor, stop quoting your Ma, she taught you wrong.

Well from what I've read here, Kyle is right about one thing...she is just like her mother.?Anyway, I watched the video and although that woman seems really odd and the dogs were filthy, Kyle made the situation worse by creating confusion when she started chasing the woman in the intersection. The dogs got more tangled because the woman was startled. I think Kyle did it for the cameras. She knew the paps were there filming. And for what it's worth, she did hide behind Teddi. So she didn't come off looking so good after all.

Another example of our decaying society. Poor Kyle was just trying to help the poor dog and had to deal with “Two-Ton-Tessie” that has anger issues and a limited vocabulary.

Yep, I’ll have to say I very much liked our fatties more back when they were jolly. Body positivity was the worst thing that ever happened to them. Not only is it enabling their way to an even earlier and assuredly premature grave, their covetousness have made them a nasty bunch to deal with while they’re still here.? {And NO, bunched panty brigade, I do NOT mean ALL of them nor did I wish harm on ANY of them, nasty or otherwise, no matter how much y’all may wanna read it that way. ??}
