Sutton Stracke Unleashes: Calling Dorit Kemsley “The Phoniest” and Defending Her Controversial Remarks

It’s the end of an era for one of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ most beloved friendships. Sutton Stracke is still coming to terms with the sudden and emotional rift between her and former castmate Garcelle Beauvais — a friendship that once felt unbreakable.

After forging a close bond during Season 10, things took a dramatic turn at the Season 14 reunion. Garcelle made headlines when she walked off the reunion stage early, later confirming her departure from the show and unfollowing all of her castmates on Instagram.

In a candid April 2025 interview with Us Weekly, Sutton opened up about the aftermath and the emotional toll it’s taken.

“I think we were all sort of in shock, but Garcelle is a very strong woman,” Sutton said. “And so she’s going to make her decision and do what she’s going to do. I just want her to live her best life and be happy.”

Despite the current distance, Sutton remains hopeful for the future of their friendship. “I am hopeful, but,” she said with a shrug. She continued, “I’m just hoping that Garcelle is good and happy and on the path that she wants to be on, which I know she is.”

Garcelle’s decision to unfollow Sutton, along with Kyle Richards, Dorit Kemsley, Erika Jayne, and Bozoma Saint John, was noticeable to fans. Yet, she still follows longtime friends Jennifer Tilly and Kathy Hilton, hinting that her departure from the group may be more about self-preservation than animosity.

In a statement to Page Six, Sutton offered nothing but support for Garcelle’s decision. “I can only imagine that she needs a clean break right now. I love her and am giving her the space she needs,” she said.

She added, “I know that she is going to move through this next chapter with grace and success.”

So Saint Sutton is in shock. No pity baby. You're on your own now so suck it up, buttercup. Maybe next time, (if there's a next time), you'll keep your end of the deal when someone has your back in spite of your asinine antics. I know, go be besties with EJ. Or Kyle. Or even Boz. I'm sure they'll take you in???

Dang . Garcelle is big mad at you Sutton . Just goes to show ya no matter how much of an alliance you have or whatever pact you made - gets broken . Let’s be big girls and handle our own things next time … if there is a next time

I still remember when Sutton became chummy with Garcon' in the first place; when because Crystal called her a racist. G was a convenient friend for Sutton,, and G needed a friend to make her existence on the show makes sense. But eventually, they just weren't able to fake it any longer.

That pretty much sums it up. I think it’s not that much different than our own ‘work buddies’. We may or may not have some semblance of a social relationship outside of the workplace (e.g., enjoying a beer or whatever after work), but when one or the other gets transferred to another department, gets a promotion, is fired or quits, the dynamic changes and the bond wasn’t deep enough to withstand that dynamic change. Garcelle chooses to be a drama queen about it, but that’s more or less what it’s comparable to imo.

That's a great analogy. For whatever reason, work buddies very seldom become lifelong friends (that's certainly been the case with me). I'm sure that's even more so in the transient entertainment industry where geographics alone would make sustaining friendships very difficult.

Yeah, and if there are tensions, even minor ones beneath the surface, that just adds to the likelihood that the ‘friendship’ (which wasn’t really a full fledged friendship to start with, but a budding one at best) will not withstand the dynamic shift. I don’t really understand why people are making a mountain out of a molehill and acting as if Sutton’s ‘unpardonable sin’ ?(i.e., lack of blind loyalty) RUINED an invaluable lifelong friendship. It didn’t, cuz there wasn’t that kind of friendship there to ‘ruin’ in the first place. Those two MAY have been glorified work buddies, but that’s where it maxes out. Even those situations have a shelf life for the most part. So, meh all around. ????
