Teddi Mellencamp Announces Her Tumors Have Shrunk or Disappeared

Teddi Mellencamp Opens Up About Her Stage 4 Cancer Battle and the Struggles of Writing a Will

Teddi Mellencamp is holding onto hope—and she’s got good reason to. In a heartfelt Instagram post on April 23, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum revealed a major breakthrough in her cancer battle.

“Honestly, the crying is already done, but I just finished with all of my scans and my tumors have significantly shrunk,” Mellencamp, 43, shared. “Which doctors believe means that this all will work and that I will be back to myself and feeling good.”

Earlier this year, Mellencamp disclosed that her stage 4 melanoma had spread to her lungs and brain, a frightening development that left her feeling vulnerable. “I really like to have control, and this is completely out of my control,” she admitted at the time. “And for the first time, I’m really scared.”

But now, with only two sessions of immunotherapy remaining, there’s a real sense of optimism. “Hopefully I am done and I will be cancer-free,” she said in the video’s caption. She continued, “All tumors stage 4 (metastasized melanoma in my brain and lungs) shrunk or disappeared so I have 6ish more weeks of immunotherapy and doctors believe I will be healed if everything stays on course.”

Teddi’s attitude remains as resilient as ever—something she credits not just to the treatments, but also to the encouragement of her care team. “I’m going to keep a positive outlook because that’s the way my doctor just spoke to me,” she said. “‘You did this, you got this,’” she recalled him saying, mimicking his voice: “‘You got that Mellencamp blood, so you’re good.’”

The reality star, mom to Dove, 5, Cruz, 10, and Slate, 12, with husband Edwin Arroyave, ended her message with gratitude: “Thank you to everyone who has sent their love, prayers, and positivity ??????.”

As Teddi continues her fight with strength and grace, her story is a reminder of the power of hope, family, and community support.

" ... her story is a reminder of the power of hope, family, and community support." ... and prayer. Remission is not "healed", but stopping the pain and keeping the cancer at bay and prolonging quality of life is all anyone can hope for. But cancer is a cruel disease that really effs with people, and I'm sure they are preparing her for not if, but WHEN it returns, at least I hope so.

That’s really amazing! I was thinking the worst case scenario was a sure bet. And while she’s not ? out of the woods yet, the fact that it’s looking like it’s headed in that direction is such an inspiration! ??

Well that's fantastic news. So all this hysteria and worry was for nothing? Boy do I feel silly. This is what we get for jumping to conclusions.
