Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge are expressing concern when it comes to sharing their thoughts on the latest headlines surrounding fellow Housewife Teresa Giudice and her husband, Luis Ruelas.
During the April 8 episode of their Two T’s in a Pod podcast, the Bravo alums addressed the reports of tax liens against the couple, expressing both concern and optimism as they discussed the situation with their listeners.
“I’m worried for her, to be honest,” Judge, 57, admitted. “We don’t know all the details. Hopefully they get it figured out, but not a good position to be in.”
Recent court documents obtained by People revealed that Giudice and Ruelas have reportedly been hit with approximately $3 million in tax liens — $303,889.20 attributed to Giudice and nearly $2.6 million to Ruelas. One lien, issued in December 2024 for $163,523.94 against Ruelas, is reportedly still unresolved.
On the podcast, Teddi Mellencamp questioned how serious the consequences could be. “How much tax lien do you have to have to go to jail?” she asked Judge, who replied, “I don’t know. I do not know how that works. I hope that it doesn’t get to that. But this isn’t good.”
Adding a bit of levity to the conversation, Teddi Mellencamp commented that Giudice might be able to resolve the financial issues quickly with social media partnerships. “She could do, like, six paid posts and get that covered,” she joked.
Tamra Judge agreed that Giudice likely has other income streams, even with The Real Housewives of New Jersey currently on pause. “I don’t think she’s done making money,” she said. “I’m sure she’s still doing things even though the show’s been put on hold. The one thing that I’ve noticed, I thought, maybe they’re going to bring cameras back up, maybe.”
Both Mellencamp and Judge made it clear that while they don’t have the full picture, their comments came from a place of empathy. “I personally hate to see anybody in financial stress,” Judge added.
Mellencamp wrapped up their take by saying, “We don’t really know that much about this, but we do know that this is something that can be avoided if you’re planning properly.”
Meanwhile, Teresa’s daughter Gia Giudice spoke out to address the rumors on the March 31 episode of the Casual Chaospodcast. “There’s nothing to worry about,” she assured listeners. “My stepdad, Luis, is the most amazing stepfather. He treats my sisters and I like we are his own. He is also working on getting everything resolved as well. But there’s nothing to worry about. Everything’s going to be fine. But thank you for your concern.”
