Teddi Mellencamp

Teddi Mellencamp has been facing some huge life challenges recently, but she’s also embracing new beginnings. The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, who has been through a public divorce and is currently battling brain cancer, just revealed some surprising news about her love life.

On a recent episode of Diamonds in the Rough with Erika Jayne, Teddi Mellencamp spilled the beans about a budding romance she’s been exploring. In case you missed it, Teddi made headlines last November when she announced her split from her husband of 13 years, Edwin Arroyave. But that was only the start of her rollercoaster journey. In February, she shared the shocking news that doctors had found multiple brain tumors, which led to an emergency surgery.

While her health and family are her top priorities, it seems love is also making its way into Teddi Mellencamp’s life. She shared that she recently went on a second date with someone she met around the time of her surgery.

“I went on a second date,” Teddi teased with a smile. “So I went on a first date, pre-the thing, and then I went on a second date yesterday, actually. He’s really cute and nice.” It sounds like she’s definitely enjoying herself!

Erika Jayne asked if Teddi’s doctors had cleared her to start dating again. “I know they said you could ride horses, but what about dating?” Erika asked.

Teddi quickly replied with enthusiasm, “Yes!” before sharing some fun photos of her new guy with Erika. “I mean, he’s making a stupid face in this photo. But he’s cute,” she laughed. And Erika agreed, “He is cute.”

Of course, Erika being the protective friend she is, asked, “What are his intentions? Do I need to get on the phone with this fool?”

Teddi laughed and revealed that the guy—whose identity she’s keeping private—didn’t even know about her Real Housewives past before they met. “He doesn’t know s***,” she chuckled, adding that it’s been a bit of a “weird” experience for her. “But he’s so nice, I get panicked. But I’ve been on two dates, and they went really well.”

So, what does Teddi like about this new guy? Well, he’s 35, works in events, and Teddi describes him as “an amazing caregiver.” She shared that he was there for her during her hospital stay following her brain surgery. “He’s been there for me, so we’ll see where this goes,” she said, leaving the door open for whatever might come next.

It is hard to feel compassion for a woman who is soaking her illness for every ounce of attention she can get. Romance after two dates? With someone who does not even know of her well enough to kw about her on-going connection with RHOBH? I don't think so.

I love Teddi but I think the last thing she should be worrying about is dating.

Yes, it really sounds like "health and family" are Teddi's top priority. Separated less than 5 months ago, receives a terminal cancer diagnosis that has devastated everyone around her, and she's telling her terrified five, eleven, and thirteen year old, "See ya later, Mommie is going out on a date". I'm actually speechless.

I’m impressed with her stamina, she’s facing multiple malignant brain tumors and still has time to keep up with who hasn’t checked in, is a bad friend and now dating! That’s all pretty remarkable. Whilst undergoing surgeries and treatment for rare cancer those two things weren’t even on my radar.

I mean, if that’s what she needs and if she likes it, I love it, but I think the ABSOLUTE LAST thing on my mind after brain surgery would be dating. ???? IJS and that’s just me…ymmv. And hey, we’re all different; life is short…YOLO and all that. So, I hope this is good for her and for him…but ?
