Sutton Stracke Shares She’s Yet to Talk About the RHOBH Episodes With Her Mother Reba

Sutton Stracke’s emotional journey on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills recently took viewers behind the scenes of her hometown of Augusta, Georgia, giving fans an inside look at her sometimes strained relationship with her strong-willed mother. In the February 2025 episodes, Stracke’s co-stars Garcelle Beauvais and Kyle Richards joined her on a visit that stirred up deep feelings and heartfelt conversations, making for an emotional viewing experience.

One of the most poignant moments came at the end of the episode titled Mind Your Business, where Sutton Stracke and her mother, Reba, had a touching conversation. In this exchange, Reba admitted she was proud of Sutton, something that Stracke clearly needed to hear. Richards reflected on the significance of this moment during the RHOBH After Show, sharing her perspective: “I remember when Sutton was opening her store, and she really wanted that validation from her mom and wasn’t getting it. So, just hearing ‘I’m proud of you’ [from Reba] meant so much to Sutton.” Richards continued, “I can’t imagine what that does psychologically, and if you can’t get that love and affection from home, you would want it from somewhere.”

Despite this breakthrough moment on screen, Stracke revealed that she hasn’t had a chance to discuss the aired episodes with her mother. “I haven’t talked to her about the episodes,” she told E!. Instead, their recent family conversations have centered on her youngest son, Philip’s, college decisions. “I don’t think she’s going to be too upset,” Stracke added, noting her mother’s age and self-awareness. “She’s 82 years old. She knows who she is.”

While discussing past Real Housewives scenes, Stracke also recalled a moment that her mother may not have fully approved of. Stracke referenced the infamous “weed” dinner from Season 13, hosted by Kyle Richards. “It’s Kyle’s dinner and I smoked pot,” Stracke said, explaining that it was a “weed dinner,” and she felt it was completely appropriate, especially since marijuana is legal in California.

Are you surprised Sutton hasn’t followed up about the episodes with her mom yet?

Reba is the epitome of that saying ""a force to be reckoned with!' I now understand Suttons personality and actions, I absolutely can.

Why did Kyle think she had the right to interpret how Sutton was reacting? Who the hell does she think she is? More transparency about what you are hiding in your own life and about your own family, Kyle, and less talking about other's family relationships.

I like Miss Reba. What a breath of fresh air. I imagine it was very difficult to raise two children while dealing with her husband's serious depression, hospitalization and self medicating with alcohol. It sounds like he suffered greatly and so did she. Hearing that gun shot and then finding her husband must have been devastating. I'm sure she'll never recover from that. Sutton needs to remember that and be kinder to her mother. Wishing Miss Reba all the best.

And I loved when she told garcelle none of her biz which it is not !!! What person thinks they can go someone’s home just meeting them and do her friends dirty work , to an 82 year old woman ? She is so off putting !!! More and more each season .

What struck me, her mother is a Therapist. I looked online and it states with the Veterans. Not a very comforting soul in my opinion.

Maybe she's empathetic in therapy when dealing with traumatized patients.

Yes .... and is supposedly still practicing. It's not difficult to imagine her telling some poor dude with legitimate wartime PTSD, "No one said life was fair, time to pick yourself up by the bootstraps and get over it soldier!" https://media2.giphy.com/media/AW6GOOvI4XbOg/giphy-downsized-small.mp4

She could still be compassionate and have a high level of EI with veterans...her daughter is just a needy, attention seeking PITA, so she probably just doesn't tolerate her BS.

I would think most children, no matter their age, would like to know they made their parents proud. It wasn't only Reba that was affected by her husband's death, but her children too.

Reba is an undeniably damaged old soul, but in a way, I appreciate her candor and no bullshit attitude (for example telling Garcon' that the relationship with her daughter is none of her business). I guess one of the few advantages of making to 82 is being allowed to become unfiltered. However, it does appear that Reba has a tendency to abuse that privilege.

All likely spot on, BUT Reba is the proverbial old dog who, whether or not she’s even capable of learning new tricks (debatable), home girl ain’t got NO intention of doing so. Period. End of. ? And look, I full on GET IT nine ways to Sunday how irritating, frustrating, embarrassing and even hurtful that can be BUT: a) good effin’ luck tryna get blood from a turnip ? and b) the old bird is well in the dusk of her life. Soon she will be God’s to contend with. Until then, erbody can just endure. It ain’t asking much in the grand scheme of things. ? TEAM REBA!!! ? ???

The thing is, we all have/had "issues" with our parents, but unless it was a childhood of extreme trauma or excessive violence, there comes a times when you need to just get over it. Also, the way she was hitting that vodka bottle, I'm guessing there were probably other issues as well.
