Harry Hamlin Stands By His Sauce After Bethenny Frankel's Harsh Review

Harry Hamlin is no stranger to the spotlight, but this time, it’s his tomato sauce that’s catching attention. The husband of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Rinna recently found himself at the center of a scathing review from Real Housewives of New York alum and Skinnygirl mogul Bethenny Frankel. Yet, Harry is standing by his creation, unbothered by the critique, and he’s letting the world know exactly how he feels.

Harry Hamlin Stands By His Sauce After Bethenny Frankel’s Harsh Review

In 2024, Harry Hamlin launched Harry’s Famous, a line of jarred tomato sauces inspired by a simple comment from Lisa, who had mentioned on RHOBH that Harry’s spaghetti sauce was truly exceptional. This off-hand remark planted the seed for his new business venture. To top it off, Harry even prepared a Bolognese sauce for Garcelle Beauvais’ birthday—proving he wasn’t just making sauces for his own kitchen but taking his craft to new heights.

However, things took a turn when Bethenny Frankel posted a candid review of Harry’s Rosemary Red Wine sauce on TikTok. The feedback was anything but kind. In her video, Bethenny didn’t sugarcoat her thoughts. After tasting the sauce, she made a face, clearly unimpressed, and said, “I don’t like that. It tastes like vinegar or wine or something.” She added, “It tastes like eating a glass of not-great red wine,” making it clear that the sauce wasn’t to her liking.

Despite the harsh criticism, Harry is unfazed telling Andy Cohen, “I’m a huge fan of Bethenny’s, and all I can say is that taste is a personal thing,” he shared in response. “Some people have good taste, some people have bad taste. But you know, there’s no accounting for it, right?” It’s clear that Harry isn’t taking her review personally—he sees it as part of the territory in the world of food, where taste is subjective, and not every product will resonate with everyone.

“I appreciate anything and everything,” Harry continued. “But I’m sticking by my sauce. If somebody gives us a try, if you like it, you like it. If you don’t, hey, buy something else.”

For those who do enjoy Harry’s famous sauce, there’s good news. The actor and entrepreneur is already preparing a second variant: Spicy Tarragon Vodka. Fans of his brand can expect a new flavor on the shelves soon, promising to bring even more variety to his sauce line.

At the end of the day, Harry remains confident in his product and in the idea that food—and opinions—are as varied as the people who try them. He may not be able to win everyone over, but for those who do love his sauce, he’s got more to come.

Not a bad way for Harry to sell more of his sauce. He just needs to keep talking about it, even if he does so in response to a bad review. Of course he knows this, which is why he responded to Bethenny.

Since Bethenny's name was brought up, I have followed her on FB for years. What on earth is with her opinions on EVERYTHING. She states she didn't see it, but has an opinion on Taylor Swift being booed at the Superbowl . She has strong opinions on the Justin and Blake issues. And the list really does go on. One minute she was doing critiques on makeup, then moving to slam designer names (the Chanel issue) and now she just has an opinion on everything. She has such a need to be relevant, as she clearly does not need the money. She was funny before and obnoxious, now she is just obnoxious. Or maybe I am missing something.

I did try the sauce...Bethenny's got my vote on this one.

I just remembered Bethenny is Italian (and a trained chef), so no one's sauce compares to her own. Secondly, eating store-bought sauce from a jar would be a mortal sin to most us (fellow Italians). All the more reason, the Gorgas (peddling RAO) is so weird.

If I see it in Canadian stores I would buy it.

I think Harry (and Lisa) missed a golden opportunity to take advantage of the situation by laughing about it WITH everyone. They could have done their own tongue and cheek review of one of Bethenny's products ... like maybe one of Bethenny's Skinnygirl dressings, because like what goes better with pasta than a good salad (dressing) right? Picture it ... the Hamlins sitting down for a romantic Italian dinner ... they then pour some of Bethenny's Fat Free Raspberry on their salad, take a bite ... and then SPIT IT OUT in utter disgust! It would have went viral for sure, and you can't even buy advertising like that. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/2a6c99fe9a1b3b459cb87b3fcc99ed145ee82ed9f278bb8ec26d3aae227d398f.png

They could even double up with some of her Skinny Girl wine which I’ve heard is abysmal (if it still even exists, I don’t drink so I don’t know these things ????). It would have been a funny bit. No telling if Bethenny would laugh it off in response or go all scorched earth? ???? Either is always a possibility with that one…?

I believe Bethenny and Lisa are friends, or at least were at one time. BTW, if I'm being completely honest, when this went down way back before Christmas (this site is very late on this one), I didn't completely buy it, because I thought it almost felt like a publicity stunt. Also, let's be real; Bethenny didn't HAVE to post it and probably cleared it with the Hamlins.

contrary to what SHE believes, Bethenny isn’t the final word on anything and btw aren’t her two cents just about spent??? Anyhoo… the spicy licorice martini sauce, doesn’t sound great but, this is the man who loves Rinna. go figure

Oh!~ You went there ?. BTW, unlike the new RHONY chicks who all claim to be, Bethenny IS a major "influencer". One of her many side hustles is reviewing products.

Reviewing products…. She’s become the self appointed know it all, final word, authority on everything sold on scamazon. Zip It, Beth!
