RHONY Recap: Rebecca Minkoff Admits To Unconventional Agreement She Made with Her Parents at 16 Involving Drugs and S*x

Designer Rebecca Minkoff is reportedly joining the season 15 cast of RHONY

On the October 15th episode of RHONY, newbie Rebecca Minkoff opened up about how she landed in New York City and a shocking pact she made with her parents as a teen.

During this week’s episode of the Real Housewives of New York, famed fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff dished on her very interesting path to living in New York City and the unconventional pact she made with her parents as a teenager.

The RHONY newbie recalled how her plans to move to NYC were almost ruined when she and her high school boyfriend, Brad, split just days before they were supposed to move in together at the age of 18.

“I lost my virginity to Brad,” Rebecca shared to her RHONY co-stars when they sounded off on her ex. “So we like Brad. I lost my virginity at 16, because my parents had a really great deal. They said, ‘If you don’t do drugs, we’ll get you birth control pills.’ And I was like, ‘Sign me up!'”

Rebecca’s co-stars were shocked by her admission, saying that they didn’t think it was a “normal” parenting move. Jenna Lyons asked if Rebecca would give her daughter, Bowie, 9, the same option when she’s a teen.

The 42-year-old replied, “I’d make that deal with her.”

Jenna then reflected on her own relationship with her son, Bennett, and whether or not she’d give him the same deal as Rebecca’s parents.

RHONY season 15 cast: (L-R) Racquel Chevremont, Sai de Silva, Jessel Taank, Jenna Lyons, Erin Lichy, Brynn Whitfield and Ubah Hassan

“I grew up in California, and so it was mostly about drinking and driving,” the former J. Crew director said of her childhood. “But like, the idea that I would condone sex at 16? It’s all like too much. I have a 17-year-old kid, like I can’t even imagine giving him … Oh, God.”

To up the ante further, Rebecca then confessed that she still has the “bed” she had s*x on for the first time.

“You have the bed? You kept the bed?” Erin Lichy questioned while Jenna clarified, “Not the mattress?”

“No, not the mattress,” Rebecca insisted. “The bed frame. It’s not sentimental, it’s right there and it’s easy. No, I wasn’t like this is my virgin bed.”

The Real Housewives of New York airs on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.

No re-cap except for this? Are you ladies bored with the RHONY? There’s at least 3 arguments per show that give us an insight into these ladies and this isn’t one of them.

IKR? I'm an episode behind, but into RHONY ... but apparently there are only a handful of us.

I enjoy it ! I like Sai more this season so far - she’s pretty on point with her giving shit to Brynn lol I struggle with Jessel; idk if I like her , like alittle, like sometimes not all lol?! I don’t like the games that Brynn plays although she gives me a laugh here and there . I want to like Jenna but she’s a little messy and cowardice ? Idk if that’s the right word ..

Same! Jenna is too guarded for a HW show. She seems very awkward in group situations. Jessel seems to have changed after watching herself for a season, and did she get some face work done? On the fence about Sai still, and the new girls too. Ubah seems very confrontational still. Hopefully it's not another season of fighting and we get to see some fun in NYC!

As someone who lost a sibling to drug addiction I would much rather my teenager having safe protected sex than doing drugs.
