RHOC: Emily Simpson Shades Jen Pedranti’s Eviction and ‘Victim Mentality’

RHOC's Emily Simpson

RHOC star Emily Simpson shades Jen Pedranti over her eviction and admits to being triggered by her “victim mentality.”

Emily Simpson opens up about why she is so frustrated with her Real Housewives of Orange County co-star Jennifer Pedranti and her financial woes.

The 48-year-old explains why she believes Jennifer is “irresponsible” with her money and reveals why she lacks empathy for her co-star’s situation.

“I think that when Jen explains her situation, I think other people look at it from the perspective of, ‘Oh, poor Jen.’ But I never looked at it like that,” Emily Simpon told BravoTV. “For me, probably being an attorney, I was like, ‘Wait. I don’t understand. Why are we saying poor Jen?’ I feel bad for the homeowner. You’re obligated to pay the $12,000 a month. That was an irresponsible decision on your part … You don’t have a job, and you don’t have income.”

As RHOC fans know, Jennifer fell behind on payments for her rental home after Gina Kirschenheiter helped her acquire the place to live.

According to Emily Simpson, Jennifer told her that she didn’t know if her ex-husband, William Pedranti, had a job or money, hinting that he may be suffering from financial problems.

“So I don’t understand what woman with five children moves into a home, signs a lease. It’s $12,000 a month. We’re not talking reasonable. This is an exorbitant amount of money. And then acts like she’s confused that she got evicted when you don’t pay,” Emily said.

She continued, “Also, when I was growing up, I grew up very poor. We didn’t have a lot of things. And my mother consistently was always like, ‘Well, we don’t have money cuz your dad. It’s your dad. Your dad left. It’s your dad’s fault. Your dad. Your dad. Your dad.’ And I remember as a young child being irritated and frustrated by her because I thought, ‘What about you?’”

And so I felt like with the Jen, with the conversation where it was like, ‘Well, Will was supposed to pay,’ I’m like, ‘But you’re a 47-year-old woman with five kids and you’re perfectly capable of having income, of having a job, of making money, of supporting yourself, and you’re choosing not to do that and place the blame on him.’”

Emily then admitted that due to her own childhood trauma, she felt triggered by Jennifer’s attitude towards her financial situation.

“It felt like that victim mentality I grew up with, and I think I have a lot of trauma from my childhood, and so that just brought up a lot of things about my own childhood,” Emily explained. “But at the end of the day, it’s not Jen’s problem to fix my trauma, and I understand that, and that’s why I apologized to her.”

“Ultimately, it’s her own life and her own decision, and I can’t consistently be mad at her because she doesn’t do things the way that I would,” she added.

The Real Housewives of Orange County airs on Bravo Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET.

Emily is absolutely "right" (literally and figuratively speaking). How exactly did Jen think she was going to make the rent, but also, why was she approved? CA is so fcked up and that goes double for Gina who hooked her up. Personally, I don't deal with renters, but if I did, the first think I would require would be an "approval letter".

Why do these women claim another HW has no job when they are all being paid by Bravo to be humiliated and exploited?

Good question.

Jenn is a very sweet, naive girl whose Daddy did her a great disservice by giving her a life safety net, she’s not at all prepared for adulthood. the future is going to be tough for her even if she inherits Daddy’s fortune she’ll be broke soon after. These are the kind of women who look for men to tell them they’re pretty and take care of them at any cost, enter sleazy Ryan.

She's also the kind who will jump from guy to guy to "save" them. As she gets older the guys are going to get farther and farther in between. She needs to find something to do on her own cuz it looks like Ryan isn't going to be able to afford her soon, after he's done with the FBI.

I think he's already been exonerated, no wrong doing. However, we are talking the dirty DOJ, so ...

I'm betting it'll be a minute before the DOJ throws around words like mail fraud and bank fraud in regards to him.

Didn’t he just essentially turn rat? Idk ????. I haven’t been following his case, but dude looks straight out of central casting as ‘smarmy, shady dude’, so…?

He's obviously a total goofball, but I don't get any particular Louie Ruelas vibes from him.

My two sisters are the same way ... from daddy's wallet to their husbands (of 35 yrs.). Neither one of them ever worked a day in their lives. It was just the times back then ... but apparently it still goes on.

Cheers to that sista~. I've never subscribed to the "No matter what, we're family" BS. I too am quite capable of walking away.

Almost as if it were conducive to the very foundation of humanity ? Oh but the world is SO MUCH better now that feminism has fixed everything and not shat out the very cultural rot that have catapulted us into DEI hell…Oh wait. ?

Change was needed, but the mission(s) have been accomplished, and some of us are old enough to remember, because we lived it. Women's lib ended in the 70's ... but the left is hellbent on reliving the bra-burning, student riots, and rainbow flag waving days. I find it all rather laughable.
Champagne Hangover September 7, 2024 - 4:43 pm
I find it all more cultural rot.
