The Valley’s Jax Taylor Diagnosed With Bipolar Disorder and PTSD

Jax Taylor, star of Bravo’s hit show The Valley, reveals that he has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and PTSD after checking into a mental health facility.

On September 2, Jax Taylor took to Instagram to update fans on his mental health journey.

“A little over a month ago, I checked into an intensive inpatient treatment facility,” Jax Taylor wrote before admitting he was “scared of the unknown and what I would find out about myself” while seeking help.

He continued, “After many years of knowing something was wrong but not knowing exactly what it was, I recently learned that I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and PTSD. It’s been a lot to process and an emotional time for me, however I’ve come home to my son with a new found sense of peace.”

Last month, Jax Taylor decided to seek in-patient treatment as he struggles with his mental health amid his split from his wife, Brittany Cartwright.

“Jax has always been candid about his mental health struggles, especially during the past few months on his podcast. He has made the decision to seek in-patient treatment,” Jax Taylor’s rep told Page Six at the time.

“This is a particularly sensitive time for him and his family. They ask for privacy and respect until he is ready to speak more on this matter.”

Since seeking treatment for his mental health, Jax’s estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright, filed for divorce on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.

The Valley’s Brittany and Jax with their son, Cruz.

The Valley star “filed for the dissolution of marriage with a minor child” as she and her estranged husband, Jax Taylor, share a 3-year-old son, Cruz.

The 35-year-old cited irreconcilable differences as the cause of the split and listed the date of separation as Jan. 24, 2024.

She asked the judge to waive spousal support for her and Jax. Brittany is also seeking legal and physical custody of Cruz, with Jax getting visitation rights.

Jax and Brittany, who met in 2015 and married in 2019, announced their separation in February. On their podcast, “When Reality Hits With Jax and Brittany,” the pair announced they were taking a break: “Jax and I are taking time apart, and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health.”

The Valley is expected to return to Bravo for season 2 in 2025.

I believe his diagnosis but trust he will use this to his advantage and play the victim any chance he gets.

I assume his PTSD is from the trauma of either 1) spending so many years with LVP, 2) realizing he was married and was supposed to be monogamous, or 3) accepting that he is no longer a 21 year old boy toy that women wanted to bed. Or maybe all three.

It's disappointing that Jax would allow himself to fall prey to some psychopathic therapist who probably got her degree online. He needs to GTFO of the CA cesspool and head back to Florida, dropping KFC Jugs off along the way. The Valley completely sux anyway.

Bi-polar and PTSD…hmmm. I will say kudos to Jax for seeking treatment and being honest with his diagnosis. I’m curious about the PTSD diagnosis. As many know, this diagnosis is usually meant for victims of wars, witness to a horrific event like murder-suicide, kidnap, people who survived rape & molestation. I am wondering which category he falls in.
