RHOC: Kelly Dodd and Gretchen Rossi Agree With Jeff Lewis That Bravo Set Up Shannon Beador To Fail on S18

Former Bravolebs Kelly Dodd, Gretchen Rossi, and Jeff Lewis believe the network set up Shannon Beador to fail while filming season 18 of RHOC.

On Tuesday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, guest Jeff Lewis admitted that he “feels” for his longtime friend Shannon Beador ahead of season 18 of the Real Housewives of Orange County.

“Shannon, this season, has a lot coming at her. I will say, watching Shannon activated though, it’s fascinating on television,” Andy Cohen noted.

“There’s no better TV than when Shannon is activated. That’s true,” Jeff Lewis agreed.

However, the former Flipping Out star added: “I feel for her. I just didn’t like that you took away all her allies. You know what I’m saying? She went in with the wolves.”

Jeff called the whole situation “terrible” and said that Bravo “set her up.”

While Andy attempted to defend himself and Bravo by noting that Shannon and Tamra Judge were allies before filming for season 18 of RHOC began, Jeff criticized him for removing Vicki Gunvalson and Taylor Armstrong from the season 18 cast.

“I would make Vicki a full-time cast member. I’d bring Taylor back as a friend, and I may bring [Gretchen Rossi] back as a friend,” he argued.

After Jeff’s comments spread around Bravoverse, two former Real Housewives of Orange County stars couldn’t help but agree with him.

Gretchen Rossi said she “100% Agreed” with Jeff’s take that Bravo sabotaged Shannon while filming season 18.

Kelly Dodd then entered the chat in response to Gretchen’s comment.

“@gretchenrossi, I wish you were there to go after TamRat,” Kelly wrote.

Season 18 of The Real Housewives of Orange County premieres on Bravo Thursday, July 11, at 9 p.m. ET.

Setting Shannon up with intent, is toying completely with her mental health, and probably not helping her issues with drinking. Bravo should be ashamed of themselves for manipulating this situation - haven't they got enough legal battles on their hands, one day they will have blood on their hands also.

Greed is not a mental disorder, it's a character flaw. Shannon's a big girl who makes choices that endanger others and embarrass her family. Her clownery could stop at any moment. Entirely up to her. I detest Andy and Bravo's low-rent production companies, but all these women made their beds and now they're lying in them.

With Jeff's over-adulation of Shannon, it is not surprising that he wants Shannon to be surrounded only by people who will enable and support her alcoholism and neediness. Shannon has coasted through by being with the "in" group for many seasons. The fact her alcoholism and her intense neediness for a man and for affirmation that she is a wonderful person has finally come around to bite her. It's about time!

The "housewives" series in itself seems to be on life support these days, and this bad casting is not helping matters. You know it's bad when 5 or 6 seasons in, and many of the the women on these shows still come off as nothing more than castmates on a fake reality show being paid to socialize (and fight). They don't even try to pretend anymore.

Strong cast, great authentic bench to reach into. However, if they divide up too much then they are in danger of becoming the next RHONJ, RHOP, and old RHONY. Love Vicki--Bring her back. Crazy, Activated, Fun is great and the cast also needs to come together, compromise and communicate and reconnect. No Lines in the Sand or Can't Interact.

Good Lord...Another 2 former housewives who need to crawl back under the stones that came out from. Anything to try to get their hw paychecks back again. Pathetic! Shannon has always been her own worst enemy and has always done more for her own destruction then anything anyone else did to her. She should have been booted from the HWs years ago, I was tired of her constant whining since before David cheated on her.

Don't really know who Jeff Lewis is but I agree with him ?. For the love of god, bring back Vicki and Kelly full time. And Gretchen and Taylor as friends. Now, that's worth watching. Tamra is too unlikeable if no one is there to give her a proper smack down.
