REPORT: Shannon Beador Continues To Drink Following DUI; Turned to Alcohol To Cope With Stress of Filming RHOC S18

Shannon Beador Arrested For DUI And Hit-And-Run Amid Co-star Gina Saying She Needs To Check Into Rehab

Those close to Shannon Beador are reportedly concerned for her wellbeing as she allegedly continues to drink following her September DUI.

Following Shannon Beador‘s DUI and hit and run last September, the Real Housewives of Orange County completed a “28 days of behavioral wellness” counseling program with an alcohol specialist.

However, the Bravo star is reportedly still drinking which has her friends worried that she is not acknowledging her problem with alcohol.

“Even after her recent DUI and outpatient rehab she is still drinking,” an insider told DailyMail.com. “She isn’t getting wasted and getting behind the wheel, but she still does enjoy a drink.”

“It is ultimately Shannon’s life – but lying to herself and trying to convince herself that her drinking is not a problem after getting a DUI from an accident that could have been way worse is not on.”

The insider then claimed that Shannon Beador’s drinking could be a result of her inability to deal with the pressure of starring on RHOC.

“She sure knows how to stay on air but she doesn’t know how to deal with the pressure of that it seems,” the source stated. “Drinking isn’t the healthy way to handle the stress of being a rich and successful reality star with your own food empire.”

In November 2023, Shannon Beador was sentenced to 3 years probation. This sentence came two months after the RHOC star was arrested for DUI and a hit-and-run on September 16, in Newport Beach, California, after she drove her car into a residential property and “clipped the house.”

Shannon’s blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit, and she blew a .24 percent following the crash.

The RHOC star avoided serving any jail time for her DUI and the judge also dismissed her one count of hit-and-run with property damage.

The 59-year-old was sentenced to 36 months of informal probation. She also agreed to pay various fines and fees, complete 40 hours of community service, and participate in a 9-month alcohol program.

Shannon Beador has not publicly discussed her DUI but is expected to open up about the ordeal on season 18 of RHOC, which will premiere on Bravo in mid-2024.

Hope she’s using a ride share service.

Any of us who have dealt with an addict knew very well she was not going to stay off the alcohol when she went into outpatient, a few days a week, rehab. Like most addicts, she will likely have to hit bottom before she decides to deal seriously with her problem. Let's just hope no one is seriously injured or killed, including Shannon, while she descends into the abyss that is coming.

Shannon, do you WANT to do better? Or repeat mistakes as an example to your girls? Choices.

I'm sorry, but I'm going to say it: So what??? She made a very stupid mistake which luckily wasn't worse than it was. Time to move on.

Not sure if she is an alcoholic or not. She had too much to drink and screwed up. She has taken responsibility. If she wants a drink - so be it. Just don't drive.

Well said...people make mistakes. I don't know what her alcohol level was but if it was just slightly over and she wasn't falling down drunk then she made a mistake. Can you imagine the horror if you were just over the limit and didn't realize it. Yipes. It happens. Learn from it and just don't do it again.

You're right Shannon made a BIG mistake but that mistake could have cost someone their life. Shannon blood alcohol level was a .24, FOUR TIMES the legal limit. That's not an opsie mistake, she was trashed and tried to act like she was just out walking Archie when cops arrived.

Isn't the legal limit .08? That's 3x. And some could argue that may sound like a lot, while others could argue the legal limit is low (especially for regular drinkers)

I should have prefaced my comment with: I do NOT condone what she did in the least, and thank God nothing more serious happened. We, as humans, do make stupid mistakes sometimes.

Unfortunately, this kind of reaction to a DUI and the fallout from it is more the rule than the exception tbh. If alcohol has been your go-to coping mechanism for YEARS especially to the point of a psychological and/or physical dependence, it’s naive at best to expect someone who’s brain has likely been physiologically impaired due to the damage alcohol abuse may have (and probably to some degree did) cause to summon the insight, humility, strength and courage it takes to eschew that coping mechanism and diligently and patiently seek out others which are healthier with authentic sincerity. It just doesn’t always happen like that nor can we expect it to EVEN THOUGH that is exactly what needs to happen. If it were that simple, however, we’d see at least a 75% reduction in alcohol abuse. We don’t, we haven’t and we won’t. IJS.

Really thoughtful comment and I think this applies to many. I'm not convinced it does do Shannon. I really hope not.

Alcohol is not her friend, and apparently she’s not willing to accept that even after a DUI and treatment. So…????
