Bravo head honcho Andy Cohen is spilling the tea on the “compelling” and dramatic Vanderpump Rules season 11 reunion. Get all the deets!
If you’ve been a little bored with season 11 of Vanderpump Rules so far buckle up because the second half of the season is about to heat up – including the highly anticipated reunion.
According to Andy Cohen, the second half of season 11 of Vanderpump Rules is totally binge-worthy.
“Y’all, I have just landed in Los Angeles,” the Watch What Happens Live host said via Instagram Story on Friday, March 15. “I’m here to shoot the Vanderpump Rules reunion. I have just binged the last seven episodes of the season. I can’t believe how good it was. And I know that y’all maybe are like, ‘Oh he’s just hyping his stuff,’ whatever. It’s not my show. I’m not a producer on it. That’s why I didn’t know anything that happened, I just watched it as a viewer. It is so good.”
He continued, “It takes off in a significant way. Kudos to the brilliant team, and what a finale. And what a reunion it will be. I’m so excited. Again, not my show, this is not a paid advertisement. Nobody asked me to make this post. It’s real good.”
Vanderpump Rules star Tom Schwartz backed up Andy’s claim in tweet, saying, “2nd half is so solid. One of my favorite seasons yet. Aside from cringing at myself.”
Meanwhile, on Monday, the Big Daddy of Bravo dished about the season 11 reunion on his SiriusXM radio show, Andy Cohen Live.
“Now, let me tell you, in preparation for what I was there for, which was the “Vanderpump Rules” reunion, I watched seven episodes of “Vanderpump Rules” in 24 hours. The remaining seven in the season. John, I think that people felt that it was off. I think that at the start, people were super interested and then they were like, “Oh, I don’t know. I don’t want to talk about this. I don’t know if I want this redemption thing. I don’t know how I feel about it.” It’s really good. I got, and I want to clarify, I don’t produce the show. I’m not, you know, I don’t, you know, it’s not like the Housewives where I have a stake in this show. I really don’t. Just as a fan of the show, it was so fun to watch,” Andy explained.
The 55-year-old then revealed that Lala Kent and Scheana Shay‘s husband, Brock Davies, emerge as the voices of reason throughout the second half of season 11.
“Lala has become the voice of reason on the show. She, I think has her best, I went into her before the reunion and I said, “This is your best season.” Without question, her best season,” Andy said before asking, “You know who else has a great season on this show?”
He continued, “Brock, Scheana’s man. He really emerges as a voice of reason and super likable. I think cutting his hair gave him a superpower. The other one who I love to watch and who I think is emerging as a real potential player in this universe, Ally Lewber. James Kennedy‘s girlfriend.”
According to Andy a lot of hot topics were brought up at the reunion but unlike last year’s reunion, the cast of Vanderpump Rules was able to discuss their issues in a somewhat respectful manner.
“What was interesting about this reunion, look. Nothing could be as heated as last year, but a lot of the topics were incredibly intense and electric. They were all calmly discussed, which I really appreciated it. It was not, of course there were flare ups and screaming, but it was not, especially given last year sitting in that space.”
Andy Cohen elaborated:
“I really enjoyed it. We shot until, I thought I was gonna be done by about six. It went until, something happened at the end, which I’ll tell y’all closer to the time, and we wound up then, it wound up adding a big chunk of time to it.
And I will say this. There are two kinds of reunions in my experience. The kinds of reunions that when I leave the taping, I either want to engage the producers more about it, and I, on the way wherever I’m going, I immediately am on the phone with producers and occasionally I’m texting cast members. Maybe the next morning I check in on some people, see how they’re doing or what they thought, or the total converse where I just want to go home, have a tequila, listen to music, and forget about the entire affair.
This was one that I was wanting to engage in. Talked to Alex Baskin on the way home. Talked to Lisa Vanderpump, was really kind of doing rounds a little bit because there was so much to talk about and it was, yeah. It was compelling.”
