Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor are coming clean concerning the rumors about their marriage.
On Thursday, Brittany Cartwright announced that she and Jax were “taking time apart.” The Vanderpump Rules alum announced the news on her podcast, When Reality Hits With Jax and Brittany.
“Yes, marriages in general are very hard and I’ve had a particularly rough year this past year,” the Kentucky native said in the episode.
“Jax and I are taking time apart and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health.”
The 35-year-old didn’t reveal what led to the split, noting that she “won’t get into too many details because this is still very hard to talk about.”
“I’m taking things one day at a time,” she added. “I don’t know what the future holds, but right now my focus is on being the best mom to Cruz.”
As AllAboutTRH previously reported, rumors have been swirling that Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright are living apart.
In February, some online sleuths noticed that there may be some trouble in paradise for the Bravo couple.
The rumors claiming that Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor are living apart from each other despite still being married first surfaced on Reddit. The post suggests that Brittany has “been living in a random house” and that she and Jax “no longer post together” on social media.
A Reddit user shared;
“What’s everyone’s thoughts on this? It’s been sometime now that we’ve noticed them not living together. (Since Jax went on that bender with the Toms) Brittany’s been living in random house and they no longer post together.
I think at first it was thought this was a ploy to get people to watch their new Valley show but I’m not so convinced. It is a possible that they’ve actually broken up for real and it won’t be a good look for the new show since they’re the ‘glue that keeps the group together.'”
While many believed the rumors to be true, others feel it’s all PR stunt to get press and promote their new show.
However, then more alleged “proof” about Jax and Brittany’s living situation popped up on social media further fueling the speculation.
Instagram sleuth @couchboundrealityTV shared content showing that the former Vanderpump Rules stars recently posted content on social media from two different homes.
“If you look at the pools – they are in 2 different locations,” the Bravo fan page shared. “Also, this am, Brittany posted a pic of her in the other house on her way to church.”
Initially Brittany denied the gossip about her marriage but clearly as shown above the rumors were very true.
Last week on Brittany and Jax’s podcast, the 35-year-old said:
“I think that we will have to address some rumors just a little bit. I’m not gonna go too hard on this because, you know, some people do deserve to have their privacy. But I will say, like, marriage is hard and people go through ups and downs all the time, and it’s completely normal.
Sometimes people might need their space, sometimes they won’t, but, like, I just think that the media takes things and runs with it without knowing the true facts. And I just wanna make one thing clear and that is that my life is not a publicity stunt for anything.”
She continued, “We filmed The Valley months ago, months ago. We’re super excited for this to come out. And there’s been so many changes that have happened in every single couple’s lives, every single couple on the show. So I just wanna make that very clear. I’m not gonna touch too much on anything else, but definitely no publicity stunts are happening here.”
Meanwhile, earlier this month, Brittany told DailyMail.com that her and Jax’s marriage was better than ever. “Everything is going great with Jax. He’s an amazing father and it’s made me fall in love with him even more. It’s been so good for our relationship to be working again. It got a little weird after we left Vanderpump Rules but now we’re back on track and I think it’s good for us to both stay busy.”
Speaking of their new Bravo show, The Valley, Brittany says she’s “grateful” for the “opportunity” while explaining that cast is made up of her and Jax’s real friends.
“We’re very grateful for all that we have and all these opportunities,” she said of The Valley, her and Jax’s podcast and new bar.
“These people have been in our lives for many years – they’re real and relatable people. There will also be some drama because of all the personalities involved, of course,” she notes of The Valley cast.
Jax and Brittany met in 2015 at Gold Spike Lounge in Las Vegas. The Kentucky native quickly moved to Los Angeles to be with Jax and first appeared on season 4 of Vanderpump Rules. By 2016, Brittany landed a job at SUR and became an official VPR cast member.
In 2017, Jax and Brittany briefly split while dealing with the fallout over Jax cheating on Brittany with their co-star Faith Stowers.
After enduring a rocky fall and summer of 2017, the former SUR couple were officially back together by December of that year.
Jax popped the question in June 2018 and the couple said ‘I do’ a little more than a year later in 2019.
They welcomed their son, Cruz, in April 2021.
Only time will tell if Brittany and Jax can fix their marriage but stay glued to AllAboutTRH for all the latest updates as they come.
Vanderpump Rules airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
