Bravo executive producer Andy Cohen is opening up about what’s going on with the Real Housewives of Atlanta franchise. Plus, we dive into some recent casting gossip.

During Tuesday’s episode of SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, host Andy Cohen discussed the future of the Real Housewives of Atlanta following Kandi Burruss’ exit.

“I talked a lot about Kandi yesterday and I think Kandi’s leaving “Housewives of Atlanta” is now having everyone saying, “Well, what is happening with ‘Housewives of Atlanta?’ Why aren’t we getting an update? What’s going on?” and so, and I didn’t want to talk about it,” Andy said.

While Andy’s co-hosts were dying to know if any former Real Housewives of Atlanta stars were returning to the fold for season 16, the Real Housewives executive producer wasn’t naming names at this point in time.

“Well, I do want to say I’m not announcing anything, but we are on it and the casting is superb and it’s funny because I saw casting last week and last week I was thinking, ‘Okay, this is gonna be great. We have a sense,'” Andy explained.

He continued, “And by the way, now that we know Kandi is leaving, that also allows us to put other puzzle pieces together and figure out, ‘Okay, well, you know, where do we go here?’ and she’s a big loss, but I think, you know, it allows us to figure out the future and I guess this is me just saying I’m very excited about the casting that we have. Very.”

Meanwhile, rumors have been swirling that Kenya Moore will be returning for season 16 of the Real Housewives of Atlanta and she will reportedly be joined by former co-star Porsha Williams.

Earlier this week, The Neighborhood Talk reported that “Porsha and Kenya are locked in for season 16.”

Sources claim that because of Kandi’s exit from the Atlanta Housewives franchise “the door could be open” for Phaedra Parks‘ return to the show for season 16.

However, Radar Online reports that while Porsha is in talks to return to the Real Housewives of Atlanta, she hasn’t signed a contract to officially rejoin the show.

“No one has signed a contract for Season 16,” and “no one is locked in,” the insider confirmed on Tuesday, noting that contracts have been sent out but have been signed, sealed or delivered yet.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta is expected to return for season 16 in 2024.

Sheree has a freakishly small head. I liked Cynthia until I saw her stupid ass on Big Brother clowning herself. I had no idea how uneducated and gullible and just really truly stupid that woman is. The last reason I had to watch ATL vanished at that point. With Potomac, why would I settle for broke ass Atlanta?

I liked the newer softer, dare I say likeable? Phaedra on the RHUGT to the Berserkenshires, but she hasn't really breathed much life into M2M, which IMO needs to be euthanized. But I suppose shuffling her over to RHOA certainly wouldn't hurt. However, generally speaking, when a show's ratings drop plummet, so does the budget, so I'm wondering where all the money for these high salaries would come from. Seems to me they are going to have to pick between Kenya and Porsha, OR Kenya and Phaedra ... not both.
