Andy Cohen Hints At Casting Changes for Season 15 of RHONY

Real Housewives executive producer Andy Cohen teases that some casting changes may happen for season 15 of RHONY.

New York City is always growing, changing, and expanding, and the same can be said for the cast of the Real Housewives of New York, per Andy Cohen

The Bravo executive producer reveals that there is room for improvement when it comes to the recently revamped Real Housewives of New York franchise.

“I think that there were some growth areas, and I think that those will be dealt with next season,” Andy told Us Weekly of season 14 of the Real Housewives of New York.

Andy notes that he believes Bravo rebooting the Real Housewives of New York with an all-new cast and bringing back OG cast members for Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy are “two of the riskiest things” the network has done.

“That was something that I lost sleep over, and I was incredibly relieved by the reception and also the grace that people gave because the original RHONY women were just chef’s kiss, and they held such a special place in people’s hearts,” Andy explained.

The Watch What Happens Live host added that he “was really thrilled” with how RHONY Legacy came together as well as the positive reception from fans.

RHONY Legacy starred Bravo alums Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Dorinda Medley, Kelly Bensimon, Sonja Morgan, and Kristen Taekman

When it comes to comparing the new RHONY cast to the OGs, the Bravo newbies know they can’t compare themselves to the iconic New York Housewives that came before them.

“I understand those women are iconic and always will be. But it was a different time,” Jenna Lyons told Vanity Fair in July 2023. “It was a  different group of people. It was a different setting. So, my inclination is to not try to compare.”

Erin Lichy added that she found earlier seasons of the New York Housewives franchise “hysterical” and has “the utmost respect for all those women” but noted that it was time for a change.

“I feel as though we got to a point where the evolution couldn’t continue because it just became kind of stagnant. [It was] the same thing over and over again,” the 37-year-old pointed out.

It’s unclear when the Real Housewives of New York will return for season 15 or when filming will begin.

No one cares. . .OG is ovah and dunzo. Ramona killed it. New New York HWs is so cheesy, thirsty and the second class. No one cares. . .Keep it on pause (cancelled).

I thought Jill sort of did in the beginning by wanting too much money. She must have realized she'd be the outcast second to Ramona. I still can't imagine that Kelly getting hired for it. They didn't learn their lessons with Brandi apparently.

Wish they had eight HWs on RGT Legacy (but they burnt all bridges). Jill could have been a surprise Scary Island visitor, Aviva back too.

Brandi Glanville just had Kristen T. on her Unfiltered, and said that the all the OG women of RHONY were still miffed that Legacy was not coming back and made a pact to NOT give them good TV on RHUGT: Legacy ... I'd say it worked, because it was really bad; in fact, it made Thailand almost seem watchable.

Well since one isn't even a real woman, that'd be nice.

I miss the old-school cast. Big time.

I've been watching NY recently on demand for the first time and now on the Season 4 reunion. I think it started getting bad during Season 4 but didn't realize it since I started watching later. Before Eboni ruined it, however, it was the only one of 3 plus SLC that I looked forward to. They found women to fit the somewhat negative stereotype of NY women I noticed watching the beginning seasons. Same with NJ and BH.

The show is a stinker. Cancel it. No one is invested enough in these broads for them to carry another season. Bravo would never admit they sh*t the bed with the reboot, but that will soon become all the more apparent if they keep shoving this reboot down our throats and lying about its ‘gracious reception’ (yeah, I said it). There is and was NOTHING stale about the old cast but what’s going to get REAL stale REAL fast is the delusional arrogance of the new cast in thinking they’re interesting. Peeps tuned in out of curiosity and they’ll inevitably tune out and but quick from disappointment. Bravo knows this hence the shuffle and jive to cover for their HUGE blunder by ‘tweaking’ for next season. Good luck with that. ? https://media1.giphy.com/media/UzKIMYOXLd2PmyPGcM/giphy-downsized-small.mp4

I think the ones I've watched (from the beginning for the first time the past year), start to get stale and annoying after the 3rd season. New people help but not when they have no reason to be there. Can't believe they've lasted so long and have so many RH shows.....
Champagne Hangover January 23, 2024 - 9:45 am
They really have milked it pretty much completely dry, but credit where credit is due, it lasted (and is lasting) a hell of a lot longer than it otherwise would have. ????

Why is bravo talking about Legacy UGT when it isn't being shown on bravo....
HermanL22 January 22, 2024 - 2:06 pm
Probably because they are "sisters" with Peacock now. But I do think I have seen episodes airing on Bravo as well (I have never gotten into the girls' trip shows).

NBC/Universal owns Bravo. Peacock is NBC's streaming service ... note that the Peacock has been NBC's logo for the last 50 yrs. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/527edf7908d1c3ccece4491986a30ec4bdd7a4ac5b720b800ae49a984ffa921e.jpg

Yes, Mr. Snarky I know about that and the peacock symbol. I was going to ask you about Season 4 NY since you said you were watching, too, but nah.
Snarky Enigma January 23, 2024 - 4:39 am
Don't be cross, I wasn't being condescending, I really wasn't; a lot of people haven't connected the dots between Peacock and NBC (and their logo). Let's talk early RHONY! I just saw for the first time. Just started Bethenny Getting Married ... love it!
675309 January 23, 2024 - 8:08 am
What season are you on? I'm on the first reunion of Season 4 and Bethenny is no longer on. There is one named Cindy that appeared. ? Sonja is new and she is much meaner than I remembered her when I started watching later on. They really fit the NY/big city stereotype(s) of being snobs and social climbers and it is interesting! Kelly is disturbing and reminds me so much of Brandi Glanville. Bethenny is gone so she has chosen Ramona to not want to be around. Simon (Alex's husband) is the pushiest ever house husband. He is on almost as much as his HW wife. They are a trip. Was the married thing Season 3 or later? There were many episodes from 1-3 that I half watched although recent. I was always confused about Jason but now it is clear. She had the sullen, bald boyfriend named Jason in the beginning. Then the next boyfriend was Jason, who she married.
Snarky Enigma January 23, 2024 - 2:43 pm
I am just starting S4 where this Cindy chick has appeared. She and her brother walked up and heard Ramona talking ill about her at some wedding in the Hamptons. The season feels "off", and it is obvious that Bethenny is SORELY missed, but no one is mentioning her (like she never existed), which makes me think it must have gotten really ugly. This is where I remembered she got her own show, so I tuned in and immediately got hooked. I'm fascinated by how in love her and this Jason guy are, but how it all goes so horribly wrong.
675309 January 23, 2024 - 3:46 pm
Oh! So what is the excuse for the Cindy chick? I did notice Bethenny gone eventually (although I think she was great for the show) and noticed Cindy sort of resembles her. I didn't get Ramona acting that way because the brother of Cindy said he smoked the deceased's cigar. ?? That made no sense and I guess part of the reason it is "off". Then Sonja was really almost out of character toward Cindy so is it that they are automatically rejecting her because she was hired to replace Bethenny, more or less.?
Snarky Enigma January 23, 2024 - 4:36 pm
Cindy and Bethenny are both brunette, but the similarity ends there. Cindy lacks Bethenny's wit and snarkasm, and seems far better suited for RHONJ, or dare I say, Mob Wives. I too was completely confused why Cindy was miffed at whatever Ramona said about her brother. Sonja has indeed undergone a personality change (as her financial problems surface), and Ramona obviously wants to be head honcho of the show. Kelly and Alex remains useless, and Zill seems distant and lost. It's very apparent that they all need Bethenny to play off off. Interestingly, Ramona and Alex are the only two who show up on Bethenny's spin off. I didn't originally come into the show until S5, so I didn't have all this history as a reference.
675309 January 23, 2024 - 5:05 pm
Good review! I started late, too. I watched early NJ the past year for the first time and more recently BH and now NY! So I should watch the Bethenny getting married one?
