Lala Kent Explains Her Decision to Defend Tom Sandoval at BravoCon

Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent explains why she defended Tom Sandoval at BravoCon

The Bravoverse was shocked at BravoCon when Lala Kent defended Tom Sandoval after ripping him to shreds the season prior over Scandoval.

While chatting with Us Weekly on Saturday, November 4, at BravoCon, Lala Kent explained why she called out fans for booing Tom Sandoval during the Vanderpump Rules panel.

The 33-year-old made it clear that she’s NOT on Tom Sandoval’s side, but she stands by her decision to stand up for him at BravoCon.

“I just felt like it was enough. I don’t know that it was really directly for Sandoval. It was just like, we can’t keep doing this. We’ve got to move on at some point,” Lala Kent explained on the BravoCon red carpet. “And I didn’t feel like the punishment is fitting the crime any longer.”

As Vanderpump Rules fans know, Tom Sandoval engaged in an almost year-long affair with co-star Raquel Leviss behind Ariana Madix‘s back. When Ariana discovered the affair in March of 2023, she ended her nearly decade-long relationship with Tom.

Now, fans will see the aftermath of Tom and Ariana’s breakup and Tom’s affair with Raquel playout during season 11 of Vanderpump Rules.

On Friday, at BravoCon, fans got their first look at the drama to come during season 11 of VPR.

Before Bravo aired the Vanderpump Rules sneak peek, the season 11 cast arrived on stage for their BravoCon panel. Ariana received a massive round of applause when she arrived on stage, while Tom Sandoval was met with boos from the crowd.

The Tom Tom co-owner was booed once again when he was asked “what he’d do differently” when it came to Scandoval.

His response left little to be desired and resulted in more boos from the crowd.

“I’d rather stand here and face it. I don’t know what you do,” Tom Sandoval said before the Give Them Lala Beauty founder jumped in with her opinion on things: “In a weird, weird way, I don’t care if you f—king boo me. … With everyone really hating on Tom, he still went out, and he still performed shows. … Life went on. … if I were in his position, I’d tell y’all to go f—k off.”

Lala Kent also opened up about her experience filming season 11 of Vanderpump Rules.

“I feel personally — Sandoval, I know what we filmed [together] — but I’ve been in a room with him for many years when I didn’t want to be, so for me, it was normal,” Lala quipped. “Nothing changed for me.”

The mom of one added that she doesn’t feel all the focus should be on Scandoval.

“We’ve all got to move on in some way — and we had a fantastic season 11. It’ll look very different, but it’ll still be amazing,” she shared. “The question that came in for him was so rude. And then the booing. Honestly, if I were him, I’d be chucking up my middle fingers and telling you to kick rocks.”

Regarding the drama to come during season 11, Lala Kent said fans should expect some major twists and turns.

“There will be a day where the dust settles. People move on. It is the strangest season that we have ever filmed,” she said on her “Give Them Lala” podcast in July. “Usually, when we film, I am like, ‘I can’t wait until this airs.’ This round, I am more, ‘I am going to go do and be, and then I will retreat because I am very much in a healing process right now.’”

Pump Rules will return to Bravo for season 11 in January.

It appears LaLa has decided she'll get more attention switching to Tom's defense rather than condemning him. She needs to do something because she isn't (and never has been) particularly interesting except as an always-angry person.
