After years of working in the restaurant business, [Jax Taylor](https://allabouttrh.com/2023/06/16/jax-taylor-lisa-vanderpump-vpr/) and [Brittany Cartwright ](https://allabouttrh.com/category/vanderpump-rules/brittany-cartwright/)are opening a sports bar in Los Angeles. No longer will the [former SUR staffers ](https://allabouttrh.com/category/vanderpump-rules/jax-taylor/)be serving crispy chicken or making Pumptinis. Instead, they will be running a family-friendly, neighborhood sports bar that will have a southern twist to it. ***“We started construction on Monday, and I am really excited. We are finally going to have a neighborhood sports bar,”*** the 44-year-old explained on his and Brittany's [When Reality Hits podcast](https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/jax-brittanys-new-business-venture/id1678330734?i=1000623290539). He continued, ***“My wife is involved just as much as I am. We have 100 percent say in what is going on, and she is doing the decorating.”*** While announcing his and Brittany’s plans to open a sports bar, Jax took the time to address his past comments that owning a bar is a ***“marriage killer.”*** Jax Taylor previously shaded his former best friends, [Tom Sandoval](https://allabouttrh.com/category/vanderpump-rules/tom-sandoval/) and [Tom Schwartz](https://allabouttrh.com/category/vanderpump-rules/tom-schwartz/), after their respective relationships fell apart during the process of opening their bar Schwartz and Sandys. ***“The difference between some other people that we know that did a bar without their significant others is that I am involving mine,” ***Jax quipped. ![Jax Taylor and Tom Sandoval on red carpet](https://allabouttrh.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Jax-Taylor-Tom-Sandoval-‘Does-Things-for-TV’-to-Make-Him-‘Look-Good’-1200x1118.jpg)Jax Taylor and Tom Sandoval Meanwhile, Jax went on to claim that he only wants the best for Sandoval and insists his post about a job offer was nothing more than a joke between old friends. Sure, Jax. *** "We have a long history, and we like making fun [of] each other. It's harmless. Don't read into things,"*** Jax wrote. ***"I want the best for Tom. He's going through a lot, and I know it's time we just let things heal or be and move on. No point in grilling the guy anymore. We have all made mistakes."*** > [View this post on Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/p/Cvmips8OOKh/?utm_source=ig_embed&utm_campaign=loading)[A post shared by All About TRH (@allabouttrh)](https://www.instagram.com/p/Cvmips8OOKh/?utm_source=ig_embed&utm_campaign=loading) Vanderpump Rules returns to Bravo in 2024 for season 11. ## Thoughts on Jax's change of heart when it comes to Sandoval?
